Thirty Nine Inches Across Is What Makes This a Room Fitting
Two timber beams cross above and eight small glass lanterns hang beneath them on short drops, each one caged in black metal with a brass rim. At 39.4 inches across it is wide enough to cover a long table or a counter end to end, and shallow enough at 14.6 inches deep that it does not close the room down. The lanterns sit at two slightly different heights, which keeps the assembly from reading as a grid. Hemp rope wraps the beam where the chains meet it.
