Color in a Garden Where Every Other Light Fitting Is Trying to Disappear

Look at any terrace at dusk and count the colors in the lighting: black, dark gray, occasionally a dull metal tone. The reasoning is sound, since a fitting that vanishes by day lets the planting do the work. It also means a garden full of hardware that adds nothing until it is switched on. Is the weave natural fiber?

It is polyethylene cord over a metal frame. That is what lets it stay outside: real wicker takes up water, goes soft and eventually rots at the base, while PE cord holds its color and shape through rain and sun.

Will the red fade?

PE cord holds pigment far better than natural fiber does, but any strong color in full sun changes over years. Expect it to soften rather than to go patchy.

What are the handles for?

Carrying, and they are wooden rather than metal so they stay cool and comfortable in the hand. At 23.6 inches across this is a two handed lift, which is why there are two of them on opposite sides of the rim.

Where does the color work?

Against gray gravel, dark planting and pale stone, which is exactly what the photographs show. Against a red brick wall or terracotta pots it disappears, and that is the one setting to avoid.

Is there a wired version?

The solar build is what is sold here, with the cell in the lid. If you need a fixed supply on this design, tell us and we will point you at a wired lantern in the same family.

Can it be left out in the rain?

Yes. IP65 is the rating: sealed against dust, and unbothered by water jets from any side. Do not immerse it. Keep the lid clear so the cell can charge and let the weave dry out after heavy rain.

Returns and Refunds

How do I return an item?

You have 30 days from the date you receive your order to request a return on eligible items. To start, email us at support@orodwell.com with your order number and the reason for the return, and we will send you the return address and instructions. Items must be unused and in their original packaging.

Do I have to pay for return shipping?

No. On approved returns, we provide a prepaid return shipping label at no cost to you. Please note that a return should never be sent to the manufacturer's address; only to the address our team provides.

I received a damaged or defective item. What should I do?

We are sorry to hear that. If a parcel arrives visibly damaged, please refuse delivery if you can, then contact us at support@orodwell.com with your order number and a photo of the item. We will prioritise your request and arrange a replacement or refund in line with our Refund Policy.

Can I change my mind after ordering?
