The Beams Carry the Weight and the Rope Is Doing Real Work
Two rough timber beams cross above, hemp rope binds the joint and runs down to each shade, and the shades themselves are barrels of woven wicker that let the light out through the weave. Nothing here is decorative cladding over a metal frame: the beams carry the load, the rope is the suspension, and the weave is the shade. That is why the piece reads as built rather than styled. Three widths are offered, from a 26.3 inch three shade version up to a 49.2 inch eight shade version, all of them 19.6 inches deep.
