How far past the base does the shade sit?

The full span is 57.8 inches and the base takes a few inches of that, so the shade hangs roughly four and a half feet out. That clears the back and the seat of a standard three seat sofa.

Will it tip if someone knocks the arm?

The marble base carries most of the 31 lbs, which is what balances the reach. It is stable in normal use. It is not a lamp for a room where a dog runs past the arm twice a day.

Can I change the color temperature later?

Yes. The fitting takes a standard E27 bulb, so the 3000K, 4000K and 6000K choice at order is really a choice of which bulb ships with it. Swap the bulb and you change the light.

Does it dim?

As supplied it holds one level. A dimmable build is available on request. With an E27 socket the other route is a plug-in dimmer and a dimmable bulb, which costs less than ordering a special build.

How tall is it under the shade?

It stands 75.9 inches overall, so the bottom of the shade sits well above a seated head and out of your eye line. Under a ceiling below eight feet, measure before you commit.

Is the base one piece of marble?

Marble, with metal and fabric elsewhere in the build, and the base is where the stone sits. Natural stone varies, so the veining on the piece you receive will not match a photograph exactly.

A metal shade at the end of a long arm throws a hard disc of light on the floor and leaves everything above it dark. Fabric does two things instead. Some light passes through the material, so the shade itself glows and the contrast in the room drops, and the rest comes down with a soft edge rather than a rim you can trace. On a fitting whose shade hangs four feet from its base and right in your field of view when you sit down, that difference is the one you notice every evening. It is also why the drum shape is still around after seventy years.

Returns and Refunds

How do I return an item?

You have 30 days from the date you receive your order to request a return on eligible items. To start, email us at support@orodwell.com with your order number and the reason for the return, and we will send you the return address and instructions. Items must be unused and in their original packaging.

Do I have to pay for return shipping?

No. On approved returns, we provide a prepaid return shipping label at no cost to you. Please note that a return should never be sent to the manufacturer's address; only to the address our team provides.

I received a damaged or defective item. What should I do?

We are sorry to hear that. If a parcel arrives visibly damaged, please refuse delivery if you can, then contact us at support@orodwell.com with your order number and a photo of the item. We will prioritise your request and arrange a replacement or refund in line with our Refund Policy.

Can I change my mind after ordering?

Yes. If you change your mind within 24 hours of placing your order, before it has been processed, we will refund you right away. After an order has shipped, please follow the standard return process described above.
