The Shade Wraps Around the Post Instead of Hanging Off an Arm Beside It

This is a small construction change with a large consequence. On a normal fabric sconce a bracket reaches out from the wall and the shade hangs at the end of it, which means the fitting projects and the arm is part of what you look at. Here a slim wood post rises straight from a narrow canopy and the shade curves around the front of it, so the post carries the weight from behind and there is no arm at all. The fitting stays close to the wall, the silhouette is a soft curve rather than an L, and the post shows through the cloth as a quiet vertical line when the lamp is on. That line is the only detail on the piece, and it is enough.

How is the shade held?

It curves around the front of a slim wood post rather than hanging from an arm. The post carries the weight and shows through the cloth as a soft vertical line, and because there is no arm the whole fitting sits close to the wall.

Which way does the light go?

Both ways. The shade is open at the top and the bottom, so light washes up the wall and pools down onto whatever sits below, with the fabric glowing warm in between. Beside a bed that gives you a soft ceiling wash and a pool on the nightstand.

Wide or tall?

The wide 23 x 20 cm shade spreads more light sideways and suits an open wall above a bed or a sofa. The tall 15 x 32 cm one reads as a column, throws a narrower wash and fits the strip beside a door or in a hallway.

Cherry tone or walnut?

The cherry tone is lighter and warmer and keeps the whole fitting in one soft register with the beige cloth. The walnut is darker, so the post reads as a clear line behind the shade and the contrast is stronger.

Which lamp should I use?

One E26 or E27 lamp per fitting, not included. A warm 2700K LED or filament lamp keeps the beige cloth looking like cloth. A cool lamp turns it gray. Stay inside the wattage marked on the fitting.

How do I clean the shade?

Dust it with a soft brush or a vacuum on its lowest setting, working with the curve rather than against it. Do not wet the fabric. Wipe the wood post along the grain with a barely damp cloth and dry it at once.

Open at the Top and at the Bottom, So One Fitting Does Two Jobs at Once

The shade is a curved band with nothing closing either end, and that decides how the piece behaves in a room. Light leaves the top and spreads across the wall and the ceiling above, which lifts a low corner and stops a bedroom feeling closed in after dark. Light also leaves the bottom and falls onto whatever the sconce sits over: a nightstand, the arm of a sofa, the top of a chest. Returns and Refunds

How do I return an item?

You have 30 days from the date you receive your order to request a return on eligible items. To start, email us at support@orodwell.com with your order number and the reason for the return, and we will send you the return address and instructions. Items must be unused and in their original packaging.

Do I have to pay for return shipping?

No. On approved returns, we provide a prepaid return shipping label at no cost to you. Please note that a return should never be sent to the manufacturer's address; only to the address our team provides.

I received a damaged or defective item. What should I do?

We are sorry to hear that. If a parcel arrives visibly damaged, please refuse delivery if you can, then contact us at support@orodwell.com with your order number and a photo of the item. We will prioritise your request and arrange a replacement or refund in line with our Refund Policy.

Can I change my mind after ordering?
