A toggle switch sits on the face of the plate, so the lamp turns on and off at the fitting. That is the point of a bedside reading light: you reach it without getting up and without a switch by the door.

Can I aim the beam?

Yes. The cylindrical head tilts on its mount, so the beam can be pushed down onto a book or angled along the wall. The head is what moves; the plate stays flat.

Is there a bulb to buy?

The light source is an integrated LED module built into the head, so nothing is ordered separately and nothing is changed later. Any electrical servicing is a job for a qualified electrician.

An Integrated LED Instead of a Socket, and What That Trade Actually Costs

There is no bulb in this fitting and no socket to put one in. The light source is an LED module built into the head, which buys three things: a narrow head that would not house a lamp, a beam tight enough to land on a book without lighting the whole room, and one less thing to buy at order time. The cost is the other side of the same coin. You do not choose the color temperature, which is fixed warm, and you cannot change the output later by swapping a bulb. When the module eventually reaches the end of its life, that is electrical work for a qualified electrician rather than a two minute job on a stepladder. Worth knowing before choosing between this and a socketed sconce.

How do I return an item?

You have 30 days from the date you receive your order to request a return on eligible items. To start, email us at support@orodwell.com with your order number and the reason for the return, and we will send you the return address and instructions. Items must be unused and in their original packaging.

No. On approved returns, we provide a prepaid return shipping label at no cost to you. Please note that a return should never be sent to the manufacturer's address; only to the address our team provides.

I received a damaged or defective item. What should I do?

We are sorry to hear that. If a parcel arrives visibly damaged, please refuse delivery if you can, then contact us at support@orodwell.com with your order number and a photo of the item. We will prioritise your request and arrange a replacement or refund in line with our Refund Policy.
