The arch, the stepped collars and the small hood over the stem are all quotations from picture lights built a century ago, when the thing being carried was a row of filament lamps and the bracket had to be deep enough to hold them clear of the canvas. This one keeps the shape and replaces the contents: a single slim tube with an integrated LED at about 10W, no lamps to align, no heat over the paint. What you gain is the proportion of the old fitting without its maintenance. What you give up is relamping, since the LED is sealed into the tube and cannot be changed.

Is the body solid brass?

We publish the specification. It is a finished metal body, and it behaves like one: kind to abrasives and unkind to metal polish.

Is there more than one size?

One only: 20.5 inches long, 5.5 inches tall and 5.5 inches off the wall. That suits a single vanity mirror up to about 30 inches wide, or a framed piece of similar width. Over a wide double mirror it will read as undersized, so a longer bar is the better answer there.

Which finish suits a room with warm metal fittings?

Gold, which is the warmest of the three and the closest to aged brass. Bronze is deeper and browner and settles into a dark or paneled room. Black is the quietest and reads as a drawn line above the mirror, which suits tile and glass rather than wood.

Can it be dimmed?

On the TRIAC warm dimming build only, and with a TRIAC dimmer, also sold as a leading edge dimmer. The plain warm build runs from a common push switch and cannot be dimmed. Both are the same fitting otherwise, at a small price step.

Will it light a framed painting?

Yes, within reason. It projects 5.5 inches, which clears an ordinary frame and lands the light on the face of the work. A deep gallery stretcher or a heavy carved frame will shade itself at that distance, so measure from the wall to the front of the frame before deciding.

Does it need an electrician?

Yes. It is hardwired: the base plate covers a junction box and the supply comes through the wall. A common push switch controls it and that switch is not included, so it is wired back to whatever the room already has.

One Size Only, Which Makes the Mirror Underneath the Whole of the Decision

There is no length ladder here. The bracket is 20.5 inches wide and that is the product, so the only question worth asking is what sits beneath it. At that width it is proportioned for a single vanity mirror up to about 30 inches, for a shaped or arched mirror of similar size, or for a framed piece in that range. Above a wide double vanity it will look stranded, and no finish choice rescues that. The finishes themselves are a smaller decision: gold for a room with warm metal already in it, bronze for dark wood and paneling, black for tile and glass.

How do I return an item?

You have 30 days from the date you receive your order to request a return on eligible items. To start, email us at support@orodwell.com with your order number and the reason for the return, and we will send you the return address and instructions. Items must be unused and in their original packaging.

Do I have to pay for return shipping?

No. On approved returns, we provide a prepaid return shipping label at no cost to you. Please note that a return should never be sent to the manufacturer's address; only to the address our team provides.

I received a damaged or defective item. What should I do?

We are sorry to hear that. If a parcel arrives visibly damaged, please refuse delivery if you can, then contact us at support@orodwell.com with your order number and a photo of the item. We will prioritise your request and arrange a replacement or refund in line with our Refund Policy.

Can I change my mind after ordering?
