The body is carved, not turned. A lathe produces a symmetrical profile; this one is cut by hand as a stacked run of organic curves that twist as they rise, so the silhouette changes as you walk past it. At the top the same wood is carved into a small cone that serves as the shade, and at the bottom the column is seated on a perforated wood disc. Because every piece is worked and finished by hand, the depth of each turn, the figure of the grain and the small marks left by the carving tools differ from one lamp to the next, which is the point rather than a defect. The whole lamp stands 37 cm tall on a 14 cm base, small enough for a crowded surface. Three finishes are offered: dark wood, light wood and matte black.

How long does a charge last?

Up to 24 hours at the brightest of the three settings and up to 72 hours at the lowest, from a 6000 mAh battery. It charges over USB-C from any ordinary phone charger or laptop port, so there is no proprietary cable to keep track of.

How do I switch it on and dim it?

One tap on the lamp switches it on. Each further tap moves through three brightness levels and then off, so the whole control is the surface of the lamp itself. There is no switch on a cord because there is no cord.

Is there a bulb inside?

The source is an integrated 5W warm white LED, so there is nothing to buy and nothing to replace. That is also what keeps the head small enough to sit under a carved wood cone rather than a fabric shade.

Why do two lamps not look the same?

Returns and Refunds

How do I return an item?

You have 30 days from the date you receive your order to request a return on eligible items. To start, email us at support@orodwell.com with your order number and the reason for the return, and we will send you the return address and instructions. Items must be unused and in their original packaging.

No. On approved returns, we provide a prepaid return shipping label at no cost to you. Please note that a return should never be sent to the manufacturer's address; only to the address our team provides.

I received a damaged or defective item. What should I do?

We are sorry to hear that. If a parcel arrives visibly damaged, please refuse delivery if you can, then contact us at support@orodwell.com with your order number and a photo of the item. We will prioritise your request and arrange a replacement or refund in line with our Refund Policy.

Can I change my mind after ordering?
