What does transitional mean here?

That the piece borrows from two periods and settles between them. The opal dome and the wood backplate are traditional. The bright chrome arm and the plain collar are not. The result sits comfortably beside older furniture and beside plain modern walls, without reading as a reproduction of either.

Is the glass opal or frosted?

Opal, which means the glass is milky all the way through rather than etched on one face. The lamp behind it never shows as a bright point, and the shade keeps its soft white look when the light is off.

How far does it come off the wall?

About 22 cm, since the arm curves out before the dome hangs. That is enough to bring the light clear of a headboard and enough to need thought in a narrow corridor where a shoulder passes.

Which lamp should I use?

An E26 or E27 lamp, not included. A warm 2700K LED or filament lamp keeps the opal cream rather than blue. Because the glass is opal, an inexpensive frosted LED performs the same as a filament here.

Can I mount a pair?

Yes, and it is the natural way to use it. Two either side of a bed or a mirror read as a matched pair because the silhouette is symmetrical and the arm curves in one plane, so nothing points awkwardly when the pair is mirrored.

Let the lamp cool. Wipe the opal dome with a barely damp cloth and dry it. Buff the chrome dry rather than polishing it, and wipe the walnut plate along the grain.

You have 30 days from the date you receive your order to request a return on eligible items.
