A Wooden Case With Two Lined Drawers, a Glass Top and a Curving Brass Arch

This is a small piece of furniture with the lamp built into it rather than a lamp with a tray at the bottom. The body is a wood case in a teak tone standing on four tapered brass-tone legs, with a glass panel set into the top and two lined drawers at the front, each opening on a small brass pull. From the back of the case a brass-tone tube rises and curves forward over the top, and the pleated shade hangs from the end of it directly above the glass, so the light falls straight down onto whatever is lying there rather than out across the room. That is what makes it a dresser or vanity piece: the drawers take the rings, the watch and the glasses at the end of the day, the glass top keeps the rest visible, and the arch lights the surface without taking any of it. The case is 30 cm wide and 22 cm deep, and the arch brings the whole thing to 62 cm tall.

What goes in the drawers?

Small things you want off the surface but within reach: rings, a watch, glasses, keys, cards. Both drawers are lined and open on small brass pulls. The case is 30 cm wide and 22 cm deep, so the drawers are shallow rather than deep, made for flat objects rather than for stacking.

What is the glass panel in the top for?

It closes the top of the case so the surface stays usable, and because it is glass rather than wood you can see what is sitting inside the upper compartment without opening anything. The shade hangs directly above it, so the light falls straight down onto whatever is there.

How tall is it and where does it fit?

The case is 30 cm wide and 22 cm deep, and the arch brings the total height to 62 cm. It wants a dresser, a vanity or a wide nightstand, and it needs the depth: at 22 cm deep plus the swing of the arch, it is not a lamp for a narrow shelf.

Is a bulb included?

Fitting a Bulb, Dimming It If You Want To, and Cleaning Wood, Glass and Pleats

The holder is a standard E26 or E27 screw base taking an LED or an Edison filament lamp up to 40W, and the bulb is not supplied. Because the arch puts the shade directly over the glass panel, the light lands in a tight pool rather than filling a room, so a warm tone at moderate output is the comfortable choice; a very bright lamp only makes the glass glare. The switch is a plain push-button and does not dim on its own, so if you want to dim it, fit a dimmable bulb with its own steps or a dimmable LED on a compatible dimmer. It plugs into an ordinary outlet on a 150 cm cord and runs on AC 110 to 240V, with the plug chosen at order. Cleaning covers three surfaces. The glass takes a soft dry cloth, with a barely damp one for a mark, dried at once. The wood case takes the same damp cloth following the grain. The pleated shade takes a soft brush worked down the folds, never across them.

Returns and Refunds

How do I return an item?

You have 30 days from the date you receive your order to request a return on eligible items. To start, email us at support@orodwell.com with your order number and the reason for the return, and we will send you the return address and instructions. Items must be unused and in their original packaging.

Do I have to pay for return shipping?

No. On approved returns, we provide a prepaid return shipping label at no cost to you. Please note that a return should never be sent to the manufacturer's address; only to the address our team provides.

I received a damaged or defective item. What should I do?

We are sorry to hear that. If a parcel arrives visibly damaged, please refuse delivery if you can, then contact us at support@orodwell.com with your order number and a photo of the item. We will prioritise your request and arrange a replacement or refund in line with our Refund Policy.

Can I change my mind after ordering?
