Table Lamp with a Night Light, Shaped as a Stacked Tree
Two jobs in one object. Turned up, this is a small table lamp at the end of a sideboard or on a desk; turned down, the stepless dimming takes it to a glow low enough to leave on all night, which is what a night light has to do and what most table lamps cannot. The shape is a tree built out of stacked cones: a solid wood cone at the bottom, turned and grained, then three white acrylic tiers rising to a point, each one lighting up so the tree reads as a lit silhouette rather than a lamp with a shade. It is narrow, 12 cm across and 35 cm tall, so it fits a bookshelf, a nightstand or a window ledge. A button on the wood cone handles switching and dimming, a Type-C port on the underside charges the battery, and two finishes are offered, a pale natural wood and a dark walnut.
