A Square Fitting Only Works When It Is Actually Square to the Whole Room

This is the thing people discover after installation. A round fitting can hang at any angle and nobody knows. A square one is judged against every wall, every door frame and every edge of the rug under it, and two or three degrees out is enough to look like a mistake. Cables do not hold an angle. They twist when the fitting is lifted into place, they settle differently once the weight is on them, and they move again the first time a door is slammed. A rigid stem removes the whole problem. You set it once, it stays, and the square keeps the line of the room instead of fighting it.

Why a rigid stem instead of cables?

Because a square has to line up with the room. A cable hung square rotates, and a few degrees out of alignment with the walls is visible from anywhere in the room. A pipe holds the angle you set and does not move.

How far does it drop?

Up to 19.7 inches on the stem, which is short by design. This is a fitting that sits close under the ceiling and lights the room from above rather than hanging into it. It is not adjustable beyond the stem length.

Is 22 000 lumens too much?

For a small room, yes. This is built to light a large living room or a hall on its own, which is why it is rated at 200W. It is not dimmable, so put it on its own switch and keep a lower second source in the room.

Can it go on a sloped ceiling?

Yes, this model is rated for it. The stem is what makes that possible, because it can be set to the pitch so the panel still hangs level.

What is the black square in the middle?

An iron frame set into the underside of the panel. It gives the square a center, and it stops the fitting from reading as a plain lit slab. It is also the part that carries the stem through to the stone.

What does it weigh?

A stone panel over three feet on a side is not light, and the ceiling fixing has to be sized for it. Write to us with the size you want and we will send you the weight and the fixing in writing.

Output this high on a short stem does something a pendant cannot. The light starts near the ceiling and spreads across it, so the whole plane above you is brighter and the room reads as taller rather than as lit from a point. It also means no hot spot on a table and no shadow under a chandelier body, which is the usual trade when you put a large light source low in a room. The catch is that it is fixed at full output with no dimming, so the room needs a second lower source for the evening. Plan for that switch before the wiring is done.

How do I return an item?

You have 30 days from the date you receive your order to request a return on eligible items. To start, email us at support@orodwell.com with your order number and the reason for the return, and we will send you the return address and instructions. Items must be unused and in their original packaging.

No. On approved returns, we provide a prepaid return shipping label at no cost to you. Please note that a return should never be sent to the manufacturer's address; only to the address our team provides.

I received a damaged or defective item. What should I do?

We are sorry to hear that. If a parcel arrives visibly damaged, please refuse delivery if you can, then contact us at support@orodwell.com with your order number and a photo of the item. We will prioritise your request and arrange a replacement or refund in line with our Refund Policy.

Can I change my mind after ordering?
