The Cell Is Worked Into the Lid Instead of Being Dropped On Top of the Fitting

Look at most solar post lights from above, which is how you see them on a low wall or a deck rail, and the top is a plain black rectangle bonded onto the fitting. It is the detail that makes solar look like a compromise. The lid here is textured across its full width, so the cell sits inside a patterned surface and the join disappears. From a first floor window, or standing over it on a terrace, the fitting reads as a finished object with a worked top rather than as a lamp with a panel taped to it. Nothing about the charging changes. What changes is that the fitting survives being seen from above, which is where post lights usually fail.

Can I change the light color?

Yes. The remote switches between warm at 3000K, neutral at 4000K and cool at 6000K. On a garden wall or a deck, warm is the setting most people keep. Cool suits a modern facade in concrete and dark metal.

How long does it run on a full charge?

6 to 8 hours of direct sun for a full charge, then 8 to 12 hours of light. Those are clear day figures. After several overcast days, or in midwinter, the evening is noticeably shorter.

Is there a wired version of this one?

This model is solar only. If you want the same open frame shape fed from the house circuit, the cube models elsewhere in this range are offered wired as well as solar in three and six sizes.

Why is the lid textured?

So the cell does not read as a black rectangle stuck on top. The pattern runs across the whole upper face, which hides the join and makes the lid look like part of the fitting rather than like the reason it works.

Does the remote have to be pointed at it?

Yes, the receiver is in the body. The fitting also runs itself on the dusk sensor with no input at all, so the remote is there for the color temperature and the level rather than for switching it on each evening.

Will it cope on a pool edge?

On the coping, yes. It is rated IP65, dust tight and protected against water jets, which covers splash and rain. It must never be immersed, so keep it back from the waterline and off any surface that floods.

Three Color Temperatures on the Remote, and the Wall Behind It Should Decide

Most fittings commit you to one light color for good. This one leaves the choice open on the remote, and the surface behind the light is what should settle it. Warm at 3000K flatters brick, timber, render and planting, and is the setting most gardens keep all year. Neutral at 4000K suits pale stone and concrete, where warm light can turn the surface yellow. Cool at 6000K reads as architectural and belongs on a modern facade of dark metal and glass, but it drains the color out of planting and makes a garden look flat after dark. Try all three on the first night, from where you will actually stand, and then leave it.

Returns and Refunds

How do I return an item?

You have 30 days from the date you receive your order to request a return on eligible items. To start, email us at support@orodwell.com with your order number and the reason for the return, and we will send you the return address and instructions. Items must be unused and in their original packaging.

Do I have to pay for return shipping?

No. On approved returns, we provide a prepaid return shipping label at no cost to you. Please note that a return should never be sent to the manufacturer's address; only to the address our team provides.

I received a damaged or defective item. What should I do?

We are sorry to hear that. If a parcel arrives visibly damaged, please refuse delivery if you can, then contact us at support@orodwell.com with your order number and a photo of the item. We will prioritise your request and arrange a replacement or refund in line with our Refund Policy.

Can I change my mind after ordering?

Yes. If you change your mind within 24 hours of placing your order, before it has been processed, we will refund you right away. After an order has shipped, please follow the standard return process described above.
