The Frame Tapers on Purpose, and the Panel Inside It Leans With the Frame

Look at the silhouette against a wall and the shape stops being a box. The two uprights are not parallel: they are further apart at the top than at the foot, and the lit panel follows them, hanging on the diagonal rather than standing straight. The consequence is practical, not decorative. A vertical panel sends its output down its own face and pools it around the base plate, which is why so many bollards light themselves beautifully and the path badly. Tilt the same panel and the glow leaves at an angle, crossing the paving or the grass beside the fixture. Same LED, same wattage, light where it is wanted.

Why is the frame tapered?

So the panel inside it can sit on a slant. A vertical panel throws its light straight down onto its own base, which lights the fixture and not much else. Tilting it pushes the glow out sideways onto the path or the lawn beside the body.

Which height for a garden path?

The 15.4 inch for a border or a bed edge, where a taller body would block the planting behind it. The 25.6 inch where the run is long and you want fewer fixtures, because a taller body covers more ground from each position.

Is there anything to install?

Nothing to wire. The base plate takes a fixing if the spot is exposed, and otherwise the light simply stands where it is set. That is the whole point of a solar body on a lawn or a deck with no supply nearby.

How is the output controlled?

It comes on by itself at dusk and works with a remote dimmer, which is the part most solar fixtures leave out. Bringing the level down on a terrace at close range is usually more useful than full output.

Does the footprint stay the same?

Yes, both heights are 9.1 inches square at the base, so a run mixing the two sizes lines up on the same setback from the edge of the paving. Only the height of the frame changes.

Can it stay out in the rain?

Yes, the rating is IP65, dust tight and proof against water jets from any direction. Do not immerse it. Keep leaf litter off the top rail, because a covered cell charges slowly whatever the weather.

A Solar Cell Laid Flat Into the Top Rail, Where Nothing on the Fixture Can Shade It

On a bollard the panel has one enemy, and it is the fixture itself. Put the cell low and the body shades it for half the day; put it on a stalk above the head and the whole thing reads as equipment. Here it is let into the flat top rail of the frame, level with the metal, so the sky sees all of it and nothing on the light stands in its way. It also means there is no separate part to align, tilt or clean around. What you have to watch is leaf litter on that flat surface, because the one thing a solar fixture cannot survive is a covered cell, and a wipe once a season is the whole maintenance schedule.

Returns and Refunds

How do I return an item?

You have 30 days from the date you receive your order to request a return on eligible items. To start, email us at support@orodwell.com with your order number and the reason for the return, and we will send you the return address and instructions. Items must be unused and in their original packaging.

Do I have to pay for return shipping?

No. On approved returns, we provide a prepaid return shipping label at no cost to you. Please note that a return should never be sent to the manufacturer's address; only to the address our team provides.

I received a damaged or defective item. What should I do?

We are sorry to hear that. If a parcel arrives visibly damaged, please refuse delivery if you can, then contact us at support@orodwell.com with your order number and a photo of the item. We will prioritise your request and arrange a replacement or refund in line with our Refund Policy.

Can I change my mind after ordering?

Yes. If you change your mind within 24 hours of placing your order, before it has been processed, we will refund you right away. After an order has shipped, please follow the standard return process described above.
