Blocking the Middle of the Output Is What Makes This Comfortable to Sit Underneath

A bare glass cylinder sends light in every direction, including straight into the eyes of anyone seated nearby. Wrapping a solid band around the waist removes exactly that band of glare and leaves the two directions that are actually useful: down onto the counter and up onto the ceiling. It is a simple piece of shielding that happens to be the most visible part of the design.

Does the band block much light?

It blocks the band of output that would otherwise hit you in the eye at seated height, and lets the rest out above and below. Over a counter that is the useful part anyway: you get a pool on the worktop and a wash on the ceiling, and nothing glaring in between.

Which tint over a pale kitchen?

Amber warms a pale room and is the one that shows up as an object against white cabinets. Smoke gray reads cooler and recedes, which suits a kitchen where the counter and the splashback are already doing the work.

Does it need assembling?

It arrives in parts and is put together as it goes up, which is routine for an electrician and takes a few minutes. The glass and the band separate for transport, which is also why the glass reaches you intact.

How many over a counter?

Three spaced about 24 inches apart is the arrangement in the kitchen picture and covers roughly six feet of worktop. At 7.1 inches across the fittings read as a row rather than crowding each other.

What bulb does it take?

An E26 screw bulb, the standard size here, and the bulb is not supplied so you choose the warmth and the output. A clear filament bulb shows through the open top and bottom; a frosted one keeps both rings even.

Can it go in a bathroom?

The maker rates it for dry locations only, so it belongs over a vanity in a large ventilated bathroom at most, and never within reach of a shower. For a wet zone, a sealed fitting is the right answer instead.

Two Rings of Light Instead of One Even Glow Gives the Ceiling Something to Do

Most small pendants light a surface and leave the ceiling dark, which makes a room read lower than it is. Because this one is open top and bottom, half of the output goes upward and comes back diffuse off the plaster. In a kitchen with a row of three, that upward half is what stops the worktop from being three bright spots in a dim room.

Returns and Refunds

How do I return an item?

You have 30 days from the date you receive your order to request a return on eligible items. To start, email us at support@orodwell.com with your order number and the reason for the return, and we will send you the return address and instructions. Items must be unused and in their original packaging.

Do I have to pay for return shipping?

No. On approved returns, we provide a prepaid return shipping label at no cost to you. Please note that a return should never be sent to the manufacturer's address; only to the address our team provides.

I received a damaged or defective item. What should I do?

We are sorry to hear that. If a parcel arrives visibly damaged, please refuse delivery if you can, then contact us at support@orodwell.com with your order number and a photo of the item. We will prioritise your request and arrange a replacement or refund in line with our Refund Policy.

Can I change my mind after ordering?

Yes. If you change your mind within 24 hours of placing your order, before it has been processed, we will refund you right away. After an order has shipped, please follow the standard return process described above.
