Small Table Lamp with an Exposed Bulb on a Wood Base
At 13 cm across and 24 cm tall this Small Table Lamp is deliberately under scale. There is no shade: a brass holder with a rotary knob sits directly on a solid wood base and carries the bulb in the open, so the object is a block of wood, a piece of brass and the filament itself. That is the reason to choose it. On a nightstand, a narrow console or a desk corner it lights a small radius without taking the surface over, and a row of two or three reads as a rhythm rather than as one bright source. Because the bulb is exposed, the bulb is the design: a warm Edison filament shows its coils and gives the lamp its character, while a frosted LED keeps the same silhouette and a softer glare. Two base shapes are offered, a turned round disc and a squared block, and both are cut from solid wood so the grain differs from one to the next.
