How much light does one give?

A single G9 at 5W covers about 22 square feet, which is a bedside, a reading corner or one working position at a counter. Three of them cover a run of worktop, and the point is directed light in several places rather than one general wash.

What bulb does it take?

A G9 capsule up to 5W, not supplied, available in any hardware shop. A dimmable LED G9 works with a trailing edge wall dimmer, which is worth doing where the fitting hangs beside a bed.

Which finish for a dark kitchen?

Matte black disappears against a dark splashback and leaves only the lit end visible, which suits a kitchen with dark cabinets. Chrome and gold both reflect what is around them and read as polished metal against a pale wall.

Do the heads hang at one height?

The two and three head versions come on a single canopy with each cable cut separately at installation, so staggering them is normal. A staggered group suits a stairwell corner, and level suits a counter.

Is it suitable above a dining table?

Three of them over a table gives directed pools rather than an even wash, which works for a narrow table and less well for a wide one. Over a counter or an island the same arrangement is on firmer ground.

How far down does it hang?

The cable arrives at 47.2 inches and is cut at installation. Over a counter, aim for the bottom of the tube around 32 inches above the worktop so the recessed lamp stays out of your sight line.

Setting the G9 inside the bottom of the tube rather than flush with it does two things at once. The light leaves in a tight cone that lands where the fitting points, and the lamp itself is invisible from any normal standing or seated angle. That is why a fitting with no shade at all can hang at eye level beside a bed without being uncomfortable to sit next to.

Returns and Refunds

How do I return an item?

You have 30 days from the date you receive your order to request a return on eligible items. To start, email us at support@orodwell.com with your order number and the reason for the return, and we will send you the return address and instructions. Items must be unused and in their original packaging.

Do I have to pay for return shipping?

No. On approved returns, we provide a prepaid return shipping label at no cost to you. Please note that a return should never be sent to the manufacturer's address; only to the address our team provides.

I received a damaged or defective item. What should I do?

We are sorry to hear that. If a parcel arrives visibly damaged, please refuse delivery if you can, then contact us at support@orodwell.com with your order number and a photo of the item. We will prioritise your request and arrange a replacement or refund in line with our Refund Policy.

Can I change my mind after ordering?

Yes. If you change your mind within 24 hours of placing your order, before it has been processed, we will refund you right away. After an order has shipped, please follow the standard return process described above.
