Sculptural Pendant Light in a Knitted Hourglass
The shape is the argument here. The shade is hand knitted fabric pulled into an hourglass, wide at the top, drawn in at the middle by a slim metal ring, then flaring again toward the open mouth, so the fixture reads as two soft cones meeting at a hard line. That one metal detail is what keeps it architectural rather than only textile. Lit, the knit glows evenly across both halves and the ring stays dark, which draws the eye to the waist. Three sizes change the presence rather than the proportions: 40 by 48 cm for a bedroom or a pair over a counter, 50 by 60 cm as the everyday size above a table, and 60 by 72 cm where the piece is meant to anchor the room. The socket is E27 and the bulb is not supplied, a knob switch operates it, and the hanging cable adjusts up to 120 cm. One fixture covers 5 to 20 square meters depending on the size and the lamp you fit.
