A single woven shade has to compromise. Weave it tightly enough to look substantial and it blocks the light; weave it loosely enough to pass light and it looks thin. This fixture avoids the choice by stacking two drums. The upper one is wrapped in coarsely woven raffia grass and does no optical work at all, so the weave can be as dense and as textured as the hand allows. The narrower lower drum is plain white fabric and does all of it, spreading the three bulbs into an even glow at the underside. Seen from a sofa the eye reads texture above and light below, which is a richer effect than either drum would give on its own.

Are the bulbs included?

Yes. Three 3000K warm white E27 LED bulbs ship with every fixture, one for each socket, so it works out of the box. E27 is the standard large screw base, which means any E27 bulb can replace them later if you want a different output or a different color temperature.

Why are there two tiers?

The upper drum is the one you see, wrapped in coarse raffia, and the lower drum is the one that works, a narrower ring of white fabric that diffuses the three bulbs. Splitting those jobs is what lets the raffia stay opaque and textured while the light still leaves the fixture evenly.

Which size should I choose?

Three diameters, 40, 50 and 60 cm, all 20 cm tall. The maker gives a recommended room size of 8 to 12 m2 for the range and lists dining tables, living rooms, bedrooms and entryways. The height of the 60 cm version is carried over from the smaller two, so write to us to confirm it before ordering.

Does anything hang below the ceiling?

No. The fixture sits flush against the plaster with no visible stem, rod or cord, and the whole assembly is 20 cm deep. That is what separates it from the raffia pendants in the same style, which need a drop to look right and headroom to work.

Will every fixture look identical?

No. The raffia is woven by hand, so strand spacing, weave tension and the exact tone of the grass shift between pieces. Two fixtures ordered together share the design and the dimensions rather than an identical surface, which is normal for hand-woven work.

How do I clean the raffia?

Dust it gently with a soft dry cloth or a feather duster, and use a soft brush to reach between the strands. Never let water, steam or a damp cloth reach the weave, because natural grass fiber marks and distorts once it absorbs moisture.

One bulb in a wide drum lights the middle and leaves the rim dull. Three spread the source across the width, so the white fabric lower tier glows evenly from edge to edge and the raffia above picks up light along its whole circumference. The maker supplies all three as 3000K warm white LEDs, which is the temperature that suits natural grass fiber: cooler light turns raffia dull and flattens the weave. Because the sockets are standard E27, nothing locks you in later. Three diameters, 40, 50 and 60 cm, all stay 20 cm deep, so the choice is about how much ceiling the texture should cover.

Returns and Refunds

How do I return an item?

You have 30 days from the date you receive your order to request a return on eligible items. To start, email us at support@orodwell.com with your order number and the reason for the return, and we will send you the return address and instructions. Items must be unused and in their original packaging.

Do I have to pay for return shipping?

No. On approved returns, we provide a prepaid return shipping label at no cost to you. Please note that a return should never be sent to the manufacturer's address; only to the address our team provides.

I received a damaged or defective item. What should I do?

We are sorry to hear that. If a parcel arrives visibly damaged, please refuse delivery if you can, then contact us at support@orodwell.com with your order number and a photo of the item. We will prioritise your request and arrange a replacement or refund in line with our Refund Policy.

Can I change my mind after ordering?

Yes. If you change your mind within 24 hours of placing your order, before it has been processed, we will refund you right away. After an order has shipped, please follow the standard return process described above.
