Which size suits a kitchen island?

Two or three of the 8.7 inch domes spaced about 30 inches apart is the usual arrangement over a standard island. The 11 inch version suits a single fitting over a round table, where one shade has to cover the whole surface.

Why is the large one so shallow?

The three sizes change proportion as they grow, from 6.7 inches deep at the smallest to 3.1 inches at the widest. A wide shallow dome spreads light over a larger area and keeps its visual weight down, which matters when the fitting is 11 inches across.

Is the light color fixed?

Warm or cool white is chosen at the order and stays that way for good, since the LED is built into the fitting. Warm suits a dining table or a bedside, cool suits a work surface where you want colors to read accurately.

Can a wall dimmer be used?

The driver is fixed output, so a dimmer will buzz or flicker instead of lowering the light. Where a dimmed level matters, put this on its own switch and let a second fitting in the room handle the mood lighting.

How low should it hang over a counter?

About 30 to 34 inches between the worktop and the bottom of the glass keeps the light on the surface and the opal disc out of your eye line. The cord is cut at installation, so the height is set against your own ceiling.

What does the opal disc do?

It takes the LED and spreads it into an even circle, so nothing bright shows through the clear dome. Without it a clear shade would put the source straight in view, which is exactly what makes most clear glass pendants uncomfortable to sit under.

Three Widths Exist Because a Counter and a Round Table Need Different Shade Sizes

One fitting over a round table has to throw light to its edges, which takes the 11 inch dome. A row over a counter does the opposite job, several small pools side by side, and the 6.3 inch version keeps the row from looking crowded. Picking the size against the surface underneath is the whole decision here, and it is easier than it sounds once the surface is measured.

Returns and Refunds

How do I return an item?

You have 30 days from the date you receive your order to request a return on eligible items. To start, email us at support@orodwell.com with your order number and the reason for the return, and we will send you the return address and instructions. Items must be unused and in their original packaging.

Do I have to pay for return shipping?

No. On approved returns, we provide a prepaid return shipping label at no cost to you. Please note that a return should never be sent to the manufacturer's address; only to the address our team provides.

I received a damaged or defective item. What should I do?

We are sorry to hear that. If a parcel arrives visibly damaged, please refuse delivery if you can, then contact us at support@orodwell.com with your order number and a photo of the item. We will prioritise your request and arrange a replacement or refund in line with our Refund Policy.

Can I change my mind after ordering?

Yes. If you change your mind within 24 hours of placing your order, before it has been processed, we will refund you right away. After an order has shipped, please follow the standard return process described above.
