Rope Pendant Light Wrapped in Woven Hemp with a Brass Band at the Waist

The shade is an hourglass built from two cones: a wide one opening upward, a narrow waist, then a second cone flaring down to the open mouth. The whole surface is wrapped in finely woven hemp rope laid horizontally, so the texture runs in close bands all the way around and catches the light differently on the upper and lower halves. A brass band closes the waist and a brass stem carries the fixture from the ceiling. Those two metal elements are what keep a natural fiber shade from going soft: without them the silhouette would lose its edge from across a room. Lit, the bulbs sit inside the lower cone and the woven surface glows in bands while the band and the stem stay dark, which is why the fixture works as an object as much as a source of light.

An hourglass built from two cones. A wide cone opens upward from the waist, and a second cone flares down from the waist to the open mouth, so the silhouette narrows in the middle and widens at both ends. A brass band closes the waist, which is the point where the two halves meet and the only hard line on the piece.

What do the brass parts do?

They hold the shape. A shade wrapped in woven rope reads as soft on its own and loses its silhouette from across a room; the band at the waist and the stem carrying the fixture give it the edge it needs. Lit, both stay dark against the glowing weave, so the waist is what the eye goes to first.

How do I clean a woven rope shade?

Dry only. Use a soft brush or a vacuum on its lowest suction with a brush head, and follow the direction in which the rope is wound rather than working across it, so nothing snags or lifts a strand. Keep water away from the hemp, and wipe the brass separately with a dry cloth. This is an indoor fitting.

Returns and Refunds

How do I return an item?

You have 30 days from the date you receive your order to request a return on eligible items. To start, email us at support@orodwell.com with your order number and the reason for the return, and we will send you the return address and instructions. Items must be unused and in their original packaging.

Do I have to pay for return shipping?

No. On approved returns, we provide a prepaid return shipping label at no cost to you. Please note that a return should never be sent to the manufacturer's address; only to the address our team provides.

I received a damaged or defective item. What should I do?

We are sorry to hear that. If a parcel arrives visibly damaged, please refuse delivery if you can, then contact us at support@orodwell.com with your order number and a photo of the item. We will prioritise your request and arrange a replacement or refund in line with our Refund Policy.

Can I change my mind after ordering?
