Three Builds, and the Real Choice Between Them Is Ceiling Height Not Width

The compact build is 50 cm tall. The two taller builds drop 145 cm. That difference decides more than the number of lamps does. At 145 cm the fitting needs a ceiling of nine feet or better over a table, and in a double height room it is the one that fills the volume, as the tall room photograph shows. At 50 cm the same design becomes usable in an ordinary eight foot room, over a breakfast table or in a hallway, and it reads as a rope crown rather than a hanging sculpture. Measure floor to ceiling first, subtract the drop you want above the table, and the build picks itself.

What is the difference between the three builds?

Height, mostly. The compact is 50 cm tall and reads as a rope crown with no visible ring, good for an eight foot ceiling. The two tall builds drop 145 cm from a spoked iron ring, six lamps at 60 cm across or eight at 80 cm.

Which lamps should I fit?

E26 or E27, one per head, not included. Every holder is open, so an Edison style filament lamp is the honest match. A warm white LED filament around 2700K keeps the rope honey rather than gray.

Will the lamps glare over a table?

They can, because nothing covers them. Over a dining table, fit frosted filament lamps or hang the fitting so the lowest lamp sits above eye level for anyone seated. The tall builds need a ceiling of nine feet or more.

Is there wood in it?

It is hemp rope and iron. The warm tone in the photographs is the natural rope rather than timber, which is why it sits easily next to a wood table without trying to match it.

Does the rope hold its loops?

Yes. The swags are formed and fixed at the ring, so they arrive in shape. Natural hemp sheds a little fiber when new and settles within a few weeks.

Is it safe over a kitchen counter?

Over a counter, yes, with the drop set so nothing is in reach of a raised pan. Not over a sink or a hob, and not in a bathroom: the rating is IP20, dry indoor use only.

Nothing Covers the Lamps, So the Filament Is the Fitting and the Glare Is Real

Every holder on this chandelier is open. That gives the piece its warmth in the photographs, where the filaments hang like a handful of small fires inside the rope, and it is also the one thing to plan for. A clear filament lamp at eye level is bright enough to be uncomfortable across a dinner table. Two fixes, both easy. Fit frosted filament lamps, which keep the shape and the coil but spread the light. Or hang the fitting higher, so the lowest lamp sits above the sight line of anyone seated. What does not work is a high wattage clear lamp over a low table.

Returns and Refunds

How do I return an item?

You have 30 days from the date you receive your order to request a return on eligible items. To start, email us at support@orodwell.com with your order number and the reason for the return, and we will send you the return address and instructions. Items must be unused and in their original packaging.

Do I have to pay for return shipping?

No. On approved returns, we provide a prepaid return shipping label at no cost to you. Please note that a return should never be sent to the manufacturer's address; only to the address our team provides.

I received a damaged or defective item. What should I do?

We are sorry to hear that. If a parcel arrives visibly damaged, please refuse delivery if you can, then contact us at support@orodwell.com with your order number and a photo of the item. We will prioritise your request and arrange a replacement or refund in line with our Refund Policy.

Can I change my mind after ordering?

Yes. If you change your mind within 24 hours of placing your order, before it has been processed, we will refund you right away. After an order has shipped, please follow the standard return process described above.
