What do the ribs actually do?

They break the surface into facets. Each rib takes the light at a slightly different angle, so lit the shade shows a run of soft vertical highlights and shadows rather than one flat glow, and the effect shifts as you move around the lamp.

What bulb does it take?

A G9, which is the small two pin fitting rather than a screw base. It is worth checking before buying: an E26 or E27 bulb will not fit this lamp. LED and Edison bulbs both exist in G9, and none is supplied.

Why is the shade opal glass rather than clear?

Opal glass is white through its thickness rather than coated, so it diffuses the small G9 source into an even glow and hides it completely. With a clear shade a G9 bulb would be a visible bright point, which is what the opal avoids.

How is it switched?

A G9 Socket Rather Than a Screw Base, and Why the Opal Shade Suits It So Well

One specification is worth reading twice before buying a bulb for this lamp: the socket is G9, the small two pin fitting, and not the E26 or E27 screw base used on most table lamps. A screw bulb will not go into it. G9 LEDs and G9 filament bulbs are both widely sold, and since none is supplied the brightness and the color temperature are yours to choose rather than fixed. Returns and Refunds

How do I return an item?

You have 30 days from the date you receive your order to request a return on eligible items. To start, email us at support@orodwell.com with your order number and the reason for the return, and we will send you the return address and instructions. Items must be unused and in their original packaging.

Do I have to pay for return shipping?

No. On approved returns, we provide a prepaid return shipping label at no cost to you. Please note that a return should never be sent to the manufacturer's address; only to the address our team provides.

I received a damaged or defective item. What should I do?

We are sorry to hear that. If a parcel arrives visibly damaged, please refuse delivery if you can, then contact us at support@orodwell.com with your order number and a photo of the item. We will prioritise your request and arrange a replacement or refund in line with our Refund Policy.
