One Fitting That Covers Both Evening Light and Working Light at a Desk

Most rooms need two different lights at different hours and end up with two different lamps. The remote build removes that. At 3000K and low output it is the warm light you want after dinner. Push it to 6000K at full output and it is daylight over a table, which is what you want when someone is working or a child is doing homework. The ring shape helps here, because the light comes off a wide circle rather than a point, so there is no single hot spot on a laptop screen. The fixed 3000K and 6000K versions cost less and give you one of those two rooms, not both.

Which version actually dims?

Only the remote build. The warm 3000K and cool 6000K versions run at one fixed level. The remote version dims and moves across the whole 3000K to 6000K range, which is why it costs a little more on two of the three finishes.

What is the difference between the two sizes?

The smaller one reaches 63 inches out with a 15.7 inch ring and runs 46W for about 5060 lumens. The larger reaches 71 inches with a 23.6 inch ring and runs 70W for about 7700 lumens. Both stand 86.6 inches tall.

Can the LED be replaced?

The LED is built into the ring and there is no socket, so the ring is not a serviceable part. If long term servicing matters more to you than the shape, a model with an E27 socket is the safer buy.

Is it bright enough to light a room?

At 7700 lumens the larger one can carry a living room on its own, which is unusual for a fitting with no shade. The smaller one at 5060 lumens is closer to a strong reading light over one seating group.

Does it need an electrician?

It plugs into a wall socket. The base is a flat disc that sits on the floor, so the only decisions are where the socket is and whether the arm clears the furniture you want it to reach over.

Does the ring glare when you sit under it?

The light sits on the inner face of the ring rather than pointing at you, so from a chair you see the lit edge and not the source. Standing directly beneath the larger ring at full output is a different matter.

A shaded lamp disappears when it is off. This one does not, because the ring is a hard geometric shape held out in the air on a thin arm, and it stays legible against a wall in daylight. That is the argument for putting it over a dining table rather than in a corner: it does the work of a pendant without a ceiling fixing, and it moves when the table moves. The rose gold and gold finishes catch the light on their outer face, so the ring reads as a bright line even unlit. In black it goes quieter and lets the light itself be the only thing you notice.

Returns and Refunds

How do I return an item?

You have 30 days from the date you receive your order to request a return on eligible items. To start, email us at support@orodwell.com with your order number and the reason for the return, and we will send you the return address and instructions. Items must be unused and in their original packaging.

Do I have to pay for return shipping?

No. On approved returns, we provide a prepaid return shipping label at no cost to you. Please note that a return should never be sent to the manufacturer's address; only to the address our team provides.

I received a damaged or defective item. What should I do?

We are sorry to hear that. If a parcel arrives visibly damaged, please refuse delivery if you can, then contact us at support@orodwell.com with your order number and a photo of the item. We will prioritise your request and arrange a replacement or refund in line with our Refund Policy.

Can I change my mind after ordering?

Yes. If you change your mind within 24 hours of placing your order, before it has been processed, we will refund you right away. After an order has shipped, please follow the standard return process described above.
