Can I change the angle of the shade?

Yes. The joint sits where the shade meets the arm, so the trumpet tips back toward the wall, points straight down or swings out into the room. That adjustment is the reason to take this over a fixed brass sconce.

How much wall does it take?

The shade is 5.5 inches across and the arm projects about 5.1 inches, so it sits close to the wall. Two heights are built, 6.3 and 9.8 inches. Tell us which suits your wall and we will send that one.

Which bulb does it take?

One standard E26 bulb, not included. A warm white LED around 2700K keeps the ceramic soft. A clear filament bulb shows the pleats as fine lines, a frosted bulb turns the shade into an even glow.

Is the ceramic the same on every piece?

Close, but not identical. The shade is shaped and glazed by hand, so the pleats, the tone and the glaze thickness vary slightly. Across a pair on one wall that difference reads as craft rather than as a defect.

Does it need an electrician?

Yes. It is hardwired to a wall junction box. The pull chain switches the light at the fitting, and a wall switch can be wired in as well if the room already has one on that circuit.

Can it go in a bathroom?

It is rated IP20, with no protection against water. A metal pull chain hanging in a room that fills with steam is also the part that suffers first, so keep it to dry rooms.

The Pull Chain Puts the Switch on the Lamp Itself Instead of Across the Room

A sconce wired only to the switch by the door is a light somebody has to get up to turn off. The brass pull chain hangs from the fitting itself, within reach of a pillow or the arm of a chair, so each light works on its own. Wire it to a wall switch as well and you have both: the room switch for arriving, the chain for the last ten minutes of a book. The chain is brass like the arm and the plate, so it reads as part of the fitting rather than as an accessory, and it gives the whole piece the look of a lamp that has been on the wall for decades.

Returns and Refunds

How do I return an item?

You have 30 days from the date you receive your order to request a return on eligible items. To start, email us at support@orodwell.com with your order number and the reason for the return, and we will send you the return address and instructions. Items must be unused and in their original packaging.

Do I have to pay for return shipping?

No. On approved returns, we provide a prepaid return shipping label at no cost to you. Please note that a return should never be sent to the manufacturer's address; only to the address our team provides.

I received a damaged or defective item. What should I do?

We are sorry to hear that. If a parcel arrives visibly damaged, please refuse delivery if you can, then contact us at support@orodwell.com with your order number and a photo of the item. We will prioritise your request and arrange a replacement or refund in line with our Refund Policy.

Can I change my mind after ordering?

Yes. If you change your mind within 24 hours of placing your order, before it has been processed, we will refund you right away. After an order has shipped, please follow the standard return process described above.
