Look at what that single piece of bent steel is actually doing. It holds the globe off the base and keeps it centered. What does the timer do?

It switches the lamp off after a set period instead of running until the battery is flat. On a terrace that means the light goes out after everyone has gone in, and the charge is still there the following evening.

Can it be charged without sun?

Yes. After a run of overcast days that is what keeps the lamp usable, and it is the reason this one suits a shaded balcony better than a pure solar lamp.

How heavy are the two sizes?

Two kilograms for the 15.4 inch and 2.75 for the 20.5 inch. Both are light enough to carry with one hand on the arch, which is the point of the shape, and heavy enough not to move in a breeze.

Which size for a balcony?

The 15.4 inch. At just over a foot across it leaves room on a small table and still reads from inside through a window. The 20.5 inch is a garden and lawn size where there is floor to give it.

Is the globe glass?

Polyethylene. It glows evenly edge to edge, it takes a knock on a stone floor, and it does not shatter if the lamp goes over. Glass at this diameter would be heavy and fragile in a piece meant to be carried.

Can it live outside all summer?

Yes. It is rated IP65, dust tight and protected against water jets from any direction, so rain and sprinklers are within it. There is no cable to run and nothing to install. Do not immerse it, and wipe the cell on top of the globe when it looks dusty.

Returns and Refunds

How do I return an item?

You have 30 days from the date you receive your order to request a return on eligible items. To start, email us at support@orodwell.com with your order number and the reason for the return, and we will send you the return address and instructions. Items must be unused and in their original packaging.

Do I have to pay for return shipping?

No. On approved returns, we provide a prepaid return shipping label at no cost to you. Please note that a return should never be sent to the manufacturer's address; only to the address our team provides.

I received a damaged or defective item. What should I do?

We are sorry to hear that. If a parcel arrives visibly damaged, please refuse delivery if you can, then contact us at support@orodwell.com with your order number and a photo of the item. We will prioritise your request and arrange a replacement or refund in line with our Refund Policy.

Can I change my mind after ordering?

Yes. If you change your mind within 24 hours of placing your order, before it has been processed, we will refund you right away. After an order has shipped, please follow the standard return process described above.
