The Ribs Swell and Gather, Which Is What Gives It the Outline of a Vessel

A straight cage is a cage. These ribs are bent: they leave the base narrow, bow outward through the middle and draw back in at the top where a collar gathers them, and that single curve is what makes the object read as a vessel rather than as a guard around a lamp. It is an old profile, closer to a woven fish trap or a jar than to anything in a lighting catalog, and it is the reason the fixture holds its own as a shape by day when it is switched off. Set one on a plain terrace or a wall ledge with nothing behind it and the silhouette does most of the work.

What does the cage do to the light?

It draws lines across it. The inner cylinder glows evenly, and the ribs in front of it read as dark verticals that spread apart at the belly and gather at the neck, so the pattern changes as you move around it.

Is the inner cylinder replaceable?

The LED is integrated and the cylinder is part of the assembly. What you choose at the time of ordering is the size, since all three carry the same warm output and the same cage detail.

Which size stands alone?

The 31.5 inch if it is the only object on a terrace. The 23.6 inch works better in a group of two or three at different heights, which is how the shape was drawn to be used.

Where should it stand?

On paving, a wall ledge, a low plinth or a lawn, anywhere the vase outline has a plain background behind it. Against busy planting the cage lines get lost in the leaves.

What is the install?

Hardwired on AC 110-240V brought up under the base and terminated in a weatherproof connection. An ordinary push switch on the supply side operates it and does not come in the box.

Can it stay outside in winter?

An IP65 rating covers dust and water jets from any side, which leaves rain and snow well within what the cage will take. Do not immerse it. Brush leaves out from between the ribs at the end of autumn.

Returns and Refunds

How do I return an item?

You have 30 days from the date you receive your order to request a return on eligible items. To start, email us at support@orodwell.com with your order number and the reason for the return, and we will send you the return address and instructions. Items must be unused and in their original packaging.

Do I have to pay for return shipping?

No. On approved returns, we provide a prepaid return shipping label at no cost to you. Please note that a return should never be sent to the manufacturer's address; only to the address our team provides.

I received a damaged or defective item. What should I do?

We are sorry to hear that. If a parcel arrives visibly damaged, please refuse delivery if you can, then contact us at support@orodwell.com with your order number and a photo of the item. We will prioritise your request and arrange a replacement or refund in line with our Refund Policy.

Can I change my mind after ordering?

Yes. If you change your mind within 24 hours of placing your order, before it has been processed, we will refund you right away. After an order has shipped, please follow the standard return process described above.
