Is the shade fixed to the stand?

It rests in a cradle at the top of the frame and is held there by its own weight, which is why the two parts read separately. Lift it out and the stand is an open steel frame.

Why buy three heights?

Because that is the arrangement the shape was drawn for. Three lanterns at 18.9, 29.5 and 39.4 inches grouped together read as a composition; one alone on a wide terrace reads as an orphan.

What is the difference between plug in and solar?

The wired build has a 59.1 inch cord with an inline push switch and a plug, so it needs a socket within reach. The solar build has a cell in the top of the shade and needs nothing run to it.

Which plug does the wired build come with?

US, EU, UK or AU, chosen at order. For North America the US plug is what ships, and the cord runs 59.1 inches, which is short enough to think about where the socket is.

Is the shade glass or plastic?

Glass, frosted white, which is why it glows evenly and why it has enough weight to sit in the cradle without a fixing. Carry it by the stand rather than by the shade.

Can it live outdoors permanently?

It is rated IP65 against dust and water jets. Do not immerse it. On the plug in build keep the connection out of standing water, and bring the tall one in ahead of a winter storm.

Plug It In Where There Is a Socket, and Run It on Solar Where There Is None at All

The two builds answer the same question differently and neither is the better one. The wired version runs from a 59.1 inch cord with an inline push switch and a plug, which means a socket has to be within about five feet of where the lantern stands. On a terrace beside the house that is nothing; at the far end of a lawn it decides the matter. The solar version carries its cell in the top of the shade and can stand wherever you want it, at the cost of following the weather. Both come in all three heights. Measure the distance to the nearest socket before you choose, because that is the whole difference.

Returns and Refunds

How do I return an item?

You have 30 days from the date you receive your order to request a return on eligible items. To start, email us at support@orodwell.com with your order number and the reason for the return, and we will send you the return address and instructions. Items must be unused and in their original packaging.

Do I have to pay for return shipping?

No. On approved returns, we provide a prepaid return shipping label at no cost to you. Please note that a return should never be sent to the manufacturer's address; only to the address our team provides.

I received a damaged or defective item. What should I do?

We are sorry to hear that. If a parcel arrives visibly damaged, please refuse delivery if you can, then contact us at support@orodwell.com with your order number and a photo of the item. We will prioritise your request and arrange a replacement or refund in line with our Refund Policy.

Can I change my mind after ordering?

Yes. If you change your mind within 24 hours of placing your order, before it has been processed, we will refund you right away. After an order has shipped, please follow the standard return process described above.
