Frosted Acrylic Behind Bars, So the Column Has Structure and Not Just Glow

A frosted tube with an LED in it gives an even, featureless cylinder of light. That reads well for about ten seconds and then there is nothing else to see. The bars here are the answer. Slim uprights run the full height of the column at close, regular intervals, so the lit surface behind them is divided into a series of tall panels and the eye follows the vertical lines up and down rather than sliding off a blank tube. By day, unlit, the same cage gives a pale column something to be looked at. It is a small amount of structure doing the work that a plain diffuser cannot.

What does the 47.2 inch version stand on?

A four leg stand in the same black finish that lifts the acrylic column to just under four feet. At that height it reads beside a lounger or a low chair instead of sitting below the furniture line and disappearing.

Do the bars change the light?

They divide it. The frosted acrylic already spreads the output evenly, and the bars lay a set of dark vertical lines over it, so the column reads as panels rather than as one continuous glow. It also gives the shape structure by day.

Wired or solar?

Wired where a supply already reaches the terrace and you want the same level every night. Solar where nothing is run and you would rather not open the paving. The body and the output are the same either way.

How heavy is the tall one?

About 15 kilograms with its stand. That is a two hand lift and it is deliberate: a four foot column on a windy terrace needs the weight in the base or it goes over. The two smaller sizes are 5 and 8 kilograms.

Which certification does it carry?

CE, ETL and SAA listed. That is a narrower statement than the regional compatibility given on most of this range, and we publish what the certificate actually covers rather than generalizing it.

Can it stay out through the season?

Yes. It carries an IP65 rating, so dust stays out and water jets are not a problem. Do not immerse it. On the solar build, keep the top clear of leaves so the cell can charge.

At 13 inches this is a lantern for a table, a step or a wall top. At 23.6 inches it is a floor piece that sits at the height of a coffee table beside a chair. At 47.2 inches, on its stand, it stands at waist height and lights a terrace the way a floor lamp lights a room, from above the furniture rather than below it. The column diameter only changes once across the three, so the largest is not brighter, it is higher, and that is what makes it read across an open terrace. Decide the height by where you will stand or sit, not by the size of the garden.

How much does shipping cost?

Shipping is free on every order, with no minimum purchase. The price you see at checkout is the price you pay for delivery.

How long before my order ships?

Orders are typically processed within 1 to 2 business days after payment. We keep a short 24-hour window before processing so that you can adjust or cancel your order if you need to. Our team places orders with our warehouses Monday to Friday, excluding public holidays.

How long does delivery take?

Once your order has shipped, it is usually in transit for about 7 to 10 days. This is an estimate and can occasionally be longer depending on the destination country and the carrier handling your parcel.

Returns and Refunds

How do I return an item?

You have 30 days from the date you receive your order to request a return on eligible items. To start, email us at support@orodwell.com with your order number and the reason for the return, and we will send you the return address and instructions. Items must be unused and in their original packaging.

Do I have to pay for return shipping?

No. On approved returns, we provide a prepaid return shipping label at no cost to you. Please note that a return should never be sent to the manufacturer's address; only to the address our team provides.

I received a damaged or defective item. What should I do?

We are sorry to hear that. If a parcel arrives visibly damaged, please refuse delivery if you can, then contact us at support@orodwell.com with your order number and a photo of the item. We will prioritise your request and arrange a replacement or refund in line with our Refund Policy.

Can I change my mind after ordering?

Yes. If you change your mind within 24 hours of placing your order, before it has been processed, we will refund you right away. After an order has shipped, please follow the standard return process described above.
