Hard Black Cage, Soft Stone Column, and the Contrast Is the Whole Design

Nothing here is trying to blend. The outer cage is black iron with open sides, a hard graphic outline that cuts against planting and paving by day. Inside it stands a column of faux alabaster, warm and translucent, which is as soft as the cage is hard. Lit, the column glows and the bars read as black lines across it. Unlit, the pale column shows through the cage as a solid form. Both states work because the two materials are doing opposite jobs rather than the same one, and that is unusual in a garden light, where the housing normally tries to disappear behind whatever is glowing inside it.

Which bulb does it take?

A standard E26 or E27 up to 40 watts, LED or filament, not included. Because the column diffuses the output, a clear filament bulb reads as warm stone rather than as a visible lamp, and a frosted bulb softens it further.

Is the column real alabaster?

It is an imitation alabaster, and we say so rather than upgrade it. It gives the warm translucent tone of stone at a fraction of the weight, which matters on a piece this tall.

Can it be dimmed?

On the supplied control, no. If you want a lower level, choose a lower output bulb rather than putting it on a dimmer circuit.

Which of the two sizes is taller?

The narrower one. The 9.8 inch diameter version stands 23.6 inches high, and the 11.8 inch diameter version stands 19.7. So the choice is between a taller slim piece and a shorter wide one, not simply a big and a small.

Does it need an electrician?

Yes. It runs at AC 110-240V from the house circuit, so a supply has to reach the position and the switch goes on the wall rather than on the fitting. There is no solar or battery build of this model.

Where should it stand?

On a flat surface: a paved terrace, a wide step, a low wall coping or beside a path. It is not spiked into soil. Keep it off ground that floods, since the rating covers water jets but not immersion.

An E26 Socket, So the Warmth of the Column Is Yours to Set and Not Ours

A stone toned diffuser changes character completely with the bulb behind it. A warm filament at 2200K pushes the column amber and makes it read as candlelight in a cage. A neutral LED at 3000K keeps it closer to pale limestone. Anything cooler drains the warmth out of the material and the piece stops looking like stone at all. Because the socket is a standard E26 or E27 rather than an integrated LED, that decision stays open, and it can be changed on a different evening for the cost of a bulb. Keep the output modest: the column is doing the spreading, and 40 watts is the stated ceiling.

Returns and Refunds

How do I return an item?

You have 30 days from the date you receive your order to request a return on eligible items. To start, email us at support@orodwell.com with your order number and the reason for the return, and we will send you the return address and instructions. Items must be unused and in their original packaging.

Do I have to pay for return shipping?

No. On approved returns, we provide a prepaid return shipping label at no cost to you. Please note that a return should never be sent to the manufacturer's address; only to the address our team provides.

I received a damaged or defective item. What should I do?

We are sorry to hear that. If a parcel arrives visibly damaged, please refuse delivery if you can, then contact us at support@orodwell.com with your order number and a photo of the item. We will prioritise your request and arrange a replacement or refund in line with our Refund Policy.

Can I change my mind after ordering?

Yes. If you change your mind within 24 hours of placing your order, before it has been processed, we will refund you right away. After an order has shipped, please follow the standard return process described above.
