A plain glazed disc is a flat shape on a wall. This one is glazed in fine concentric rings of cream and caramel that run out from the center like the growth rings in cut wood or a ripple spreading on water. The rings are raised, so the light from the off center globe rakes across them and throws small shadows, and the disc reads with texture from the far side of a room. How big is it and how far does it project?

10.2 inches round and 5.5 inches out from the wall. That depth is shallow enough for a hallway where people pass close to the wall, and the diameter suits a pier or a spot beside a mirror.

Which bulb does it take?

One G9 bi-pin LED bulb, not included. A 2700K to 3000K bulb keeps the opal globe warm and brings the caramel rings up to amber. A cooler bulb holds the glaze flat and gray.

Is there marble in it?

It is glazed ceramic with an opal glass globe, and the ringed body is thrown and glazed rather than cut from stone. Write to us if you need the materials confirmed in writing for a specification.

Will the rings look the same on two pieces?

The glaze is applied by hand, so the spacing, the width and the tone of the rings vary from one disc to the next. That is what keeps a pair from looking machine printed.

Does it need an electrician?

Yes. It is hardwired to a wall junction box. The brass pull chain switches it at the fitting, and a wall switch can be wired in as well if the circuit already has one.

Can it go in a bathroom?

It is rated IP20, with no protection against water. A metal pull chain in a room that fills with steam is the part that suffers first, so keep it to dry hallways, bedrooms and living rooms.

A Pull Chain Means the Fitting Works Even on a Wall With No Switch Near It

Plenty of good walls have a junction box and no switch anywhere useful, usually because the room was wired around a ceiling fixture. The brass pull chain on this sconce switches the light at the fitting itself, so it works as a standalone light beside a chair, at the end of a hallway or on a landing. Wire it to a wall switch as well if there is one and you have both controls. The chain also matters beside a bed, where getting up to cross the room is the reason a wall light quietly stops being used after the first month.

Returns and Refunds

How do I return an item?

You have 30 days from the date you receive your order to request a return on eligible items. To start, email us at support@orodwell.com with your order number and the reason for the return, and we will send you the return address and instructions. Items must be unused and in their original packaging.

Do I have to pay for return shipping?

No. On approved returns, we provide a prepaid return shipping label at no cost to you. Please note that a return should never be sent to the manufacturer's address; only to the address our team provides.

I received a damaged or defective item. What should I do?

We are sorry to hear that. If a parcel arrives visibly damaged, please refuse delivery if you can, then contact us at support@orodwell.com with your order number and a photo of the item. We will prioritise your request and arrange a replacement or refund in line with our Refund Policy.

Can I change my mind after ordering?

Yes. If you change your mind within 24 hours of placing your order, before it has been processed, we will refund you right away. After an order has shipped, please follow the standard return process described above.
