A White Orb Held Up on a Turned Wood Stem
A stem of turned wood fixed to a round plate, tapering to a point at the bottom and opening into a collar at the top where a smooth white orb sits. It stands 52 cm tall against a plate only 18 cm across, so the piece runs up the wall as a vertical line rather than spreading across it. The stem is lathe turned with contours cut into it at intervals, which is what gives the silhouette its rhythm and stops it reading as a plain dowel. Three finishes are offered, a pale wood, a walnut and a black, all with the same white orb. Hardwired, with a pull chain on the fitting and an E26 or E27 lamp not included.
