The light source sits inside the scenery. Under a clear acrylic dome is a small frosted range of mountain peaks, and the LED lights them from within, so what you see is a glowing landscape rather than a bulb behind a shade. That is what makes the lamp comfortable to look straight at: there is no bright point at eye level, only a soft mass of light held behind clear acrylic. Why is it a good lamp for a child's room?

Because the light is held inside a small frosted landscape under a clear dome rather than shining out of a bare source, so there is nothing at eye level bright enough to dazzle a child who wakes up. The single push button on the base is a control a small hand can find in the dark, and there is no cord to run across the floor.

Does it have a cord?

In use, none. It charges over USB with the cable supplied and then runs on its own battery, so it can sit on a shelf or a bedside with nothing trailing from it. Plug it in to recharge the way you would a phone.

How bright is it?

About 6W, which is a night light rather than a room light. It is enough to find your way across a bedroom, to feed a baby by or to read a page or two, but it will not light a room on its own and is not meant to.

Which light color should I choose?

Warm 3000K for a nursery or a bedside, because it is the least likely to wake anyone properly. Neutral 4000K reads as plain white on a shelf or a desk. Cool 6000K is the brightest of the three and the least restful at night.

Is the dome glass?

It is clear acrylic, and the mountain peaks inside it are a frosted acrylic diffuser. Acrylic is the right choice next to a child: it does not shatter if the lamp is knocked off a shelf. It does scratch more easily than glass, so keep abrasive cleaners away from it.

How do I clean it?

Wipe the acrylic dome with a soft dry cloth and nothing else, since solvents cloud acrylic permanently and abrasives scratch it. The wood base takes a barely damp cloth, dried at once, and the brass tone ring the same.

There is no cord in use. Returns and Refunds

How do I return an item?

You have 30 days from the date you receive your order to request a return on eligible items. To start, email us at support@orodwell.com with your order number and the reason for the return, and we will send you the return address and instructions. Items must be unused and in their original packaging.

Do I have to pay for return shipping?

No. On approved returns, we provide a prepaid return shipping label at no cost to you. Please note that a return should never be sent to the manufacturer's address; only to the address our team provides.

I received a damaged or defective item. What should I do?

We are sorry to hear that. If a parcel arrives visibly damaged, please refuse delivery if you can, then contact us at support@orodwell.com with your order number and a photo of the item. We will prioritise your request and arrange a replacement or refund in line with our Refund Policy.

Can I change my mind after ordering?
