One Fixing Point, Five Heights, and Light Arriving on Several Levels at Once

The usual way to light a planted bed at different heights is several fixtures, several cables and several decisions about spacing. This one does it from a single base. Five stems rise out of the same small disc and each carries its cap at a different height, so one fixing point delivers light to the gravel, to the low planting, to the leaves a couple of feet up and to the air above them. In a bed with layered planting that matters, because a single pool at one height flattens everything it touches. Several small pools at staggered heights read the way daylight does, which is why the cluster looks planted rather than installed.

How many stems are there?

Five, rising from one base, each ending in a shallow cap at its own height. The tallest is 47.2 inches and the rest step down from it, so the cluster covers several levels from a single fixing point.

Do the caps glare?

Each one is a shallow dome facing straight down with the LED recessed underneath, so you see lit ground and a dark underside rather than a source. From a seat nearby the caps read as pale shapes in the planting.

Where does it suit?

In a bed or a gravel area where the stems can rise through low planting, which is what the shape was drawn for. On bare paving it reads as an object on its own and loses the reason for the different heights.

Is the base heavy enough?

It is a 4.7 inch round base carrying about 5 kg, which is stable on a hard surface. In an exposed spot or on soft ground, fix it down through the base rather than leaving it standing loose.

What does it need to install?

A hardwired supply on AC 110-240V brought up under the base and terminated in a weatherproof connection. It runs from a common wall switch on the circuit, which is not included.

Can it stay out all year?

It is rated IP65 against dust and water jets from any side, so rain and sprinklers are within it. Do not immerse it. Wipe the caps when they collect dust, since they face down and rain does not clean them.

Shallow Caps Facing Straight Down, With the Source Tucked Up Underneath

A mushroom light lives or dies on what happens under the cap. Get it wrong and the LED shows from every angle below the rim, which turns a quiet shape into a set of bright dots at knee height. Here each cap is a shallow dome with the source recessed well up inside it, so the light leaves downward in a soft circle and the underside itself stays dark. Walk past and what you notice is the gravel lighting up around each stem, not the stems themselves. In daylight the same caps read as pale organic shapes among the planting, which is the other half of why the cluster works in a bed.

Returns and Refunds

How do I return an item?

You have 30 days from the date you receive your order to request a return on eligible items. To start, email us at support@orodwell.com with your order number and the reason for the return, and we will send you the return address and instructions. Items must be unused and in their original packaging.

Do I have to pay for return shipping?

No. On approved returns, we provide a prepaid return shipping label at no cost to you. Please note that a return should never be sent to the manufacturer's address; only to the address our team provides.

I received a damaged or defective item. What should I do?

We are sorry to hear that. If a parcel arrives visibly damaged, please refuse delivery if you can, then contact us at support@orodwell.com with your order number and a photo of the item. We will prioritise your request and arrange a replacement or refund in line with our Refund Policy.

Can I change my mind after ordering?

Yes. If you change your mind within 24 hours of placing your order, before it has been processed, we will refund you right away. After an order has shipped, please follow the standard return process described above.
