Why is the bar folded rather than round?

So the light source sits behind an edge instead of facing the room. A tube shows its bright underside from most angles. This profile puts the diffuser behind the fold, so what reaches your eye is reflected light off the wall and the mirror rather than the strip itself, which is easier to stand under in a small bathroom.

What width of mirror suits 17.7 inches?

A mirror or canvas between roughly 24 and 36 inches wide. Centered above a round mirror it lights the face and the glass evenly. Over a wide double vanity, two of these spaced over each basin works far better than one bar stretched across the middle.

Can I dim it?

As supplied it holds one level. The order carries a single fixed warm output. Where dimming matters, the TRIAC builds elsewhere in this range are the ones to order, since adding a dimmer to a driver that was not made for it causes flicker and shortens its life.

Which finish for a bathroom with chrome taps?

Black, usually. A warm brass bar above chrome tapware reads as two decisions rather than one. If the taps are brushed gold or unlacquered brass, take the brass or the gold finish and let them agree. Where the room is already mixed, black is the neutral that sides with neither.

Does it need an electrician?

Yes. It is hardwired, with a box behind the plate and a switch on the wall. If there is no supply above the mirror, adding one usually means a chase and a plaster repair, which is when the plug in and rechargeable fittings in this range start to look sensible.

Can it go in a bathroom?

The rating is IP20, which is no protection against water, so keep it clear of the shower and of direct spray and wipe condensation off the metal.

The instinct with a wide vanity is to buy the longest bar available and center it. It rarely works. A single long bar over two basins puts its brightest light in the gap between them and leaves each face lit from the side, which is the angle that flatters no one and hides the corner of the jaw you are trying to shave or make up. How do I return an item?

You have 30 days from the date you receive your order to request a return on eligible items. Items must be unused and in their original packaging.

No. On approved returns, we provide a prepaid return shipping label at no cost to you. Please note that a return should never be sent to the manufacturer's address; only to the address our team provides.

I received a damaged or defective item. What should I do?

We are sorry to hear that. If a parcel arrives visibly damaged, please refuse delivery if you can, then contact us at support@orodwell.com with your order number and a photo of the item. We will prioritise your request and arrange a replacement or refund in line with our Refund Policy.
