Most outdoor wall lights are designed to be seen and sized accordingly. This one is designed to fit. At 6.3 inches across and 4.7 deep it lands on the narrow strip of wall beside a door architrave, on the pier between two windows, or in the reveal of a recessed entry, all places where a traditional lantern would either foul the frame or look cramped. The proportion is the whole point: a tall, thin body carries the same amount of light as a wide one, but it does it on a footprint that leaves the architecture alone. On a modern elevation with large openings and little solid wall, that is often the only fixture that works.

Which height suits a front door?

The 23.6 inch for a standard door, centered about 66 inches above the threshold. The 15.7 inch reads better in a pair on a narrow entry, and the 31.5 inch is for a tall elevation or a double door where a short body looks lost.

Wired or solar?

Wired where a supply already reaches the wall and you want the same output every night of the year. Solar where nothing is run to that wall and opening it up is not worth the trouble. The body is identical either way.

Is a switch included?

The wired build works with a common wall switch, usually the one already feeding the entry. The solar build comes with a remote dimmer instead and needs no switch on the wall at all.

How much wall does it take?

Very little. It is 6.3 inches wide and projects 4.7 inches, so it clears a door architrave and suits a narrow pier between two windows where a wide lantern would not fit.

What does the strip do to the light?

It spreads it. The acrylic runs the full height and lights evenly from top to bottom, so from the path you read a line rather than a glare point, and the wall behind picks up a soft wash on either side.

Can it stay on an exposed wall?

Yes. It is rated IP65, which means dust tight and proof against water jets from any direction. Do not immerse it. On the solar build, keep the top cap clear so the cell can see the sky.

A Lit Strip Rather Than a Lit Face, So There Is No Glare Point at Eye Level

A box with a bright front panel puts a rectangle of glare at eye level, and on a porch that is exactly where nobody wants it. Here the acrylic is a narrow strip set back between two steel bars, and it lights evenly along its whole length instead of showing a hot center. Walking up the path you read a vertical line of warm light and a soft wash spreading onto the render either side of it. Standing at the door you can look straight at the fixture without turning your head away. The light that matters, the light on the step and the handle, is still there. The part that would have made you squint has been taken out.

Returns and Refunds

How do I return an item?

You have 30 days from the date you receive your order to request a return on eligible items. To start, email us at support@orodwell.com with your order number and the reason for the return, and we will send you the return address and instructions. Items must be unused and in their original packaging.

Do I have to pay for return shipping?

No. On approved returns, we provide a prepaid return shipping label at no cost to you. Please note that a return should never be sent to the manufacturer's address; only to the address our team provides.

I received a damaged or defective item. What should I do?

We are sorry to hear that. If a parcel arrives visibly damaged, please refuse delivery if you can, then contact us at support@orodwell.com with your order number and a photo of the item. We will prioritise your request and arrange a replacement or refund in line with our Refund Policy.

Can I change my mind after ordering?

Yes. If you change your mind within 24 hours of placing your order, before it has been processed, we will refund you right away. After an order has shipped, please follow the standard return process described above.
