Flutes Along the Cylinder, Which Turn One Bright Tube Into Many Fine Lines

A plain translucent cylinder lit from inside has one problem: at three feet it is a single bar of glare with nothing to look at. Fluting solves it without losing any output. Each groove acts as its own small lens along the length of the tube, so the light leaves in a series of thin vertical highlights with darker lines between them, and the surface reads as texture rather than as a lamp. Walk past and the pattern shifts with the angle, which is the part photographs never show. The ground below gets exactly the same amount of light either way. What does the fluting do?

It splits one bright tube into a set of fine vertical lines. A smooth cylinder at close range is a glare stripe; the grooves refract the output along their own length, so the eye reads texture and the path still gets the light.

Why is one size low and wide?

For pebble beds, coping stones and the edge of a raised bed, where a slim upright looks like it was dropped there. At 7.3 inches long and 5.9 tall it lies along the surface and lights it from just above.

Is the frame open on both sides?

Yes, and that is the point. There is no glazing to look through, no cavity to mist up and no panel to clean, so the cylinder itself is the only thing between the LED and the garden from any direction.

How do I space them along a walk?

Eight feet apart on the two upright sizes, closer on the low one because it throws a shorter pool. Stagger them rather than facing them off in pairs and the run reads as an edge rather than a corridor.

What is the install?

Hardwired on AC 110-240V with a cable brought to each position and terminated under the base. A common push switch controls the circuit and is not included with the fixture.

Can it stand in an irrigated bed?

Yes. IP65 means dust tight and proof against water jets from every side, which covers sprinklers and heavy rain. Do not immerse it, and keep mulch from piling against the base where water would sit.

Two of these sizes are conventional path lights and the third is not. At 7.3 inches long, 3.7 deep and only 5.9 tall, the low body lies along a surface rather than standing on it, which is the answer for the places a slim upright never suits: the coping of a wall, a bed of white pebbles, the edge of a raised planter, the flat top of a step. It throws a shorter pool, so space them closer, and it reads as part of the hard landscaping rather than as a fixture planted in it. Buy one of each and the run has somewhere to change register instead of marching on at the same height.

Returns and Refunds

How do I return an item?

You have 30 days from the date you receive your order to request a return on eligible items. To start, email us at support@orodwell.com with your order number and the reason for the return, and we will send you the return address and instructions. Items must be unused and in their original packaging.

Do I have to pay for return shipping?

No. On approved returns, we provide a prepaid return shipping label at no cost to you. Please note that a return should never be sent to the manufacturer's address; only to the address our team provides.

I received a damaged or defective item. What should I do?

We are sorry to hear that. If a parcel arrives visibly damaged, please refuse delivery if you can, then contact us at support@orodwell.com with your order number and a photo of the item. We will prioritise your request and arrange a replacement or refund in line with our Refund Policy.

Can I change my mind after ordering?
