A Single J of Brushed Aluminum, a Solid Walnut Block and One Wide Cone Shade

There are three parts and none of them is decorative. A flat strip of brushed aluminum rises off the desk in one continuous J and holds the shade out over the working surface, so the light arrives where the page is instead of where the foot is. A solid walnut block stands alongside as the counterweight, holding the balance over the foot and keeping the lamp from reading as an all metal object. The third part is the shade: a wide shallow cone, 25 cm across and open at the bottom, which spreads the output into a broad even circle rather than a narrow spot and hides the bulb completely from a seated position. Total height is 44 cm, enough to clear a monitor stand or a stack of books. Two shade colors are offered on the same aluminum and walnut body, white or black, and each wood block is solid, so grain and tone vary from one lamp to the next.

How much desk does it take?

The shade is 25 cm across and the lamp stands 44 cm tall, with the arc reaching out sideways so the light lands away from the foot. The walnut block and the aluminum foot are the only parts touching the desk, which keeps the footprint small next to a keyboard.

What kind of light does the cone shade give?

A broad even circle rather than a narrow spot. The cone is shallow and open at the bottom, so the output spreads as it comes down and covers a page or a keyboard without a hot center, and the bulb stays hidden from a seated position.

Is a bulb included?

The socket is E26 or E27 and takes an LED or an Edison bulb, so the brightness and the color temperature are yours to choose. A warm 2700K to 3000K LED suits an evening desk; 4000K is the usual choice for close work.

What is the wood block for?

It is the counterweight. The aluminum arc reaches out over the desk, and the solid walnut block alongside it holds the whole thing down and keeps the balance over the foot. It is also what stops the lamp reading as an all metal object.

Which color should I pick?

Both versions have the same brushed aluminum arc and walnut block. Only the cone changes. White reflects more light back down and reads lighter on a desk; black absorbs more, throws a tighter pool and reads as a graphic silhouette against a pale wall.

An Open E26 or E27 Socket, an Inline Switch and a Shade to Handle When Cool

The socket is deliberately left empty. It takes a standard E26 or E27 bulb, LED or Edison, and none is supplied, so the brightness and the color temperature are decided by whoever owns the lamp: a warm 2700K to 3000K LED for an evening desk, 4000K for close work, an Edison filament if the visible glow under the cone is the point. The switch is an inline push button on the 150 cm cord, so nothing is added to the clean line of the arc. Because the shade is open at the bottom, the bulb is easy to reach for changing, and that is also the reason to let it cool first: an Edison filament under a shallow metal cone gets hot, and so does the cone. For care, use a soft dry cloth on the shade and follow the brush lines on the aluminum rather than wiping across them, and give the walnut block a barely damp cloth along the grain, dried at once.

How do I return an item?

You have 30 days from the date you receive your order to request a return on eligible items. To start, email us at support@orodwell.com with your order number and the reason for the return, and we will send you the return address and instructions. Items must be unused and in their original packaging.

Do I have to pay for return shipping?

No. On approved returns, we provide a prepaid return shipping label at no cost to you. Please note that a return should never be sent to the manufacturer's address; only to the address our team provides.

I received a damaged or defective item. What should I do?

We are sorry to hear that. If a parcel arrives visibly damaged, please refuse delivery if you can, then contact us at support@orodwell.com with your order number and a photo of the item. We will prioritise your request and arrange a replacement or refund in line with our Refund Policy.

Can I change my mind after ordering?
