Only Thirty Nine Centimeters Deep, Which Is Rare on a Fitting This Wide

At 95 or 105 cm across, this is a wide chandelier. What it is not is a deep one. The body measures 39 cm from the canopy to the bottom of the domes, so instead of hanging down into the room it spreads across the ceiling. That combination is unusual and it is what makes the fitting work in an ordinary eight or nine foot room, where a chandelier of the same width and twice the depth would sit in your sight line across the sofa. It also means the chain does the work of setting the height, so decide the drop with the furniture in place rather than before it arrives.

Is the column solid wood?

The specification lists metal, wood and glass, and the column is a turned wood piece in a walnut tone. The arms and canopy are metal in a gold finish. Grain and tone shift between pieces.

How low does it hang?

The body is only 39 cm tall, plus about 50 cm of chain. That makes it one of the shallower fittings in the range and a reasonable choice for an eight or nine foot ceiling where a deeper chandelier would crowd the room.

What color of light do the domes give?

The glass is beige rather than white, so the light comes through warmer than an opal shade. Pair it with a 2700K lamp and it reads honey. A 4000K lamp fights the glass and the walnut both.

Six lights or eight?

Six at 95 cm suits a living room or a bedroom of normal size. Eight at 105 cm is for a large room or a long table, and at that width it needs about 30 cm of clear space on each side to look deliberate.

What is the maximum wattage?

The domes are shallow and open underneath so heat escapes, but there is no reason to push it. An LED of 5W to 8W per head gives plenty of output.

Can the domes be taken off to clean?

Each dome lifts from its arm once the lamps are cool. Wash in warm water with a little detergent, dry fully, and refit. Do the domes one at a time so none of them swap position.

Beige Glass Rather Than White, So the Light Arrives in the Room Already Warmed

The domes are not opal white. They are a soft beige, which means the glass itself tints the light before it reaches the room, and the effect is closer to candle than to daylight. In the bedroom and living room photographs that is doing most of the mood. It also narrows the lamp choice in a useful way. A 2700K warm white lamp behind beige glass reads honey and flatters the walnut column. A 4000K neutral lamp fights the tint and comes out muddy rather than crisp. If you want a cool, modern light, this is the wrong shade and an opal globe fitting is the right one.

Returns and Refunds

How do I return an item?

You have 30 days from the date you receive your order to request a return on eligible items. To start, email us at support@orodwell.com with your order number and the reason for the return, and we will send you the return address and instructions. Items must be unused and in their original packaging.

Do I have to pay for return shipping?

No. On approved returns, we provide a prepaid return shipping label at no cost to you. Please note that a return should never be sent to the manufacturer's address; only to the address our team provides.

I received a damaged or defective item. What should I do?

We are sorry to hear that. If a parcel arrives visibly damaged, please refuse delivery if you can, then contact us at support@orodwell.com with your order number and a photo of the item. We will prioritise your request and arrange a replacement or refund in line with our Refund Policy.

Can I change my mind after ordering?

Yes. If you change your mind within 24 hours of placing your order, before it has been processed, we will refund you right away. After an order has shipped, please follow the standard return process described above.
