A Cube Gives You Three Lit Faces at Once, Which a Lit Sphere Can Never Do

Look at a lit sphere and you see one continuous surface with no edges, which is restful and slightly featureless. Look at a lit cube from a chair and you see three faces, each at a different angle to you, each carrying a different part of the veining, with two hard corners between them. What is the difference between the sizes?

Depth, mostly. At 6.7 inches deep the cubes sit in one straight line. At 13.8 and 17.7 inches they are staggered on two levels, which widens the pool of light and makes the fitting read as a three dimensional object rather than a bar.

Which one goes over a narrow table?

The 6.7 by 39.4 inch. One row of cubes over a table two and a half feet wide keeps the light on the plates and nothing overhangs the chairs. The staggered versions need a wider surface under them to look right.

Are the bulbs supplied?

Yes, a G9 bulb sits inside every cube and comes with the fitting. G9 is a common base, so replacements are easy to find, and changing one does not mean taking the arm apart.

Can it be dimmed?

As built it holds one level, on every size. If dimming matters in the room, tell us and we will point you at a model in the same material that supports it rather than sell you a change we cannot make.

Why are the cubes held from one side?

So that five of the six faces stay clear. A cube gripped top and bottom loses the two faces that show the most veining. Holding it from one arm keeps the corner facing the room free, which is where the three lit planes meet.

Warm or cold white?

Both, 3000K or 6000K, from the same build. Warm reads as golden against the black arms. Cold keeps the stone close to white, which suits a concrete or a stone kitchen better. Tell us which one when you order.

Matte Black Arms Disappear at Night and the Cubes Read as Floating Stone

The arms are the structure and matte black is how they are made to vanish. A polished or brass arm would catch every light in the room and draw a bright line across the ceiling, which puts the metal in front of the stone. Matte black absorbs instead of reflecting, so once the cubes are lit the arms fall away and what you see is a set of glowing blocks held at different heights by nothing obvious. In daylight the arms come back and the fitting reads as a drawing in black line with white stone at the joints, which is a different object entirely and worth checking against your ceiling color.

Returns and Refunds

How do I return an item?

You have 30 days from the date you receive your order to request a return on eligible items. To start, email us at support@orodwell.com with your order number and the reason for the return, and we will send you the return address and instructions. Items must be unused and in their original packaging.

Do I have to pay for return shipping?

No. On approved returns, we provide a prepaid return shipping label at no cost to you. Please note that a return should never be sent to the manufacturer's address; only to the address our team provides.

I received a damaged or defective item. What should I do?

We are sorry to hear that. If a parcel arrives visibly damaged, please refuse delivery if you can, then contact us at support@orodwell.com with your order number and a photo of the item. We will prioritise your request and arrange a replacement or refund in line with our Refund Policy.

Can I change my mind after ordering?

Yes. If you change your mind within 24 hours of placing your order, before it has been processed, we will refund you right away. After an order has shipped, please follow the standard return process described above.
