The usual mistake in a standard height room is buying something small because the ceiling is low. Small reads as timid and the room still feels short. Why does this suit a low ceiling?

Because nothing hangs below the ring. The straps hold the stone from above, so the whole fitting is shallow and can sit close to the ceiling while still measuring three or four feet across, which is what gives a small room presence without losing headroom.

How close to the ceiling can it go?

The cable is up to 3.3 ft and is set on site, so you can bring it right up or drop it where the room needs it. Under eight feet of ceiling, keeping it high is usually what you want.

Which size for a living room?

The 45.3 inch above a seating group, the 33.5 in a bedroom or a bathroom. A wide ring reads as calm rather than as heavy, so going larger is usually the better call if the ceiling height allows it.

Can it go over a bath?

The fitting is rated for indoor dry locations only, so it must be positioned outside the zones around a bath or a shower as set by your local code. Your electrician will confirm the clearance before it goes up.

Can it be dimmed?

This model is not dimmable as built. In a bathroom or a bedroom that is worth planning around, so keep a second lower source in the room rather than relying on this one for every hour of the day.

Can it go on a sloped ceiling?

Yes, this model is rated for it. Tell us the angle when you order. The three strap suspension is what makes it possible, because it can be set to hold the ring level under a pitch.

Three Black Straps Are Structure and Graphic Line at the Very Same Time

Viewed face on, the straps divide the ring into three equal arcs and meet at a small black hub in the center of the opening. That is a deliberate drawing, not just a way of holding the stone up, and it is the difference between this and a plain lit circle. At night the straps read as three dark lines across a band of light. In daylight they are the only dark element on a pale object and they give the ring a center, which an unbroken circle would not have. If your ceiling is dark, they disappear into it and the stone appears to float.
