Three Ways to Power One Fixture, Which Is Rare and Worth Understanding

Most exterior wall lights give you one supply and one level. This frame is offered three ways, and the choice is not cosmetic. Plain wired costs the least and holds one output from a common switch, which is right where the fixture is functional rather than decorative. Wired dimmable brings the level down for an evening, at the cost of an external triac driver that has to be planned into the circuit before the wall is closed. Solar needs nothing run to the wall at all, which is what makes a garden wall or a back elevation possible in the first place. Same frame, same ribbed tube, three different jobs.

What are the three power options?

Plain wired on AC 110-240V from a common wall switch, wired with a triac dimmable driver, or solar with a cell on the top ledge and a remote. The frame and the tube are the same in all three.

Where does the triac driver go?

Outside the fixture. The driver cannot sit inside it, so a dimmable build needs an external triac dimmer on the circuit, which is a decision to make before the wall is closed up.

How much power does each size draw?

About 6W at 13.8 inches, 9W at 19.7 and 13W at 27.6 on the wired builds. The taller body is a longer lit tube rather than a brighter one, so the light per inch stays roughly level.

Why is the tube ribbed?

Because a smooth translucent tube shows as one flat band of brightness. The grooves refract the output along their length, so at close range the tube reads as a series of fine lines and there is no single hot spot.

Which height beside a door?

The 19.7 inch for a standard 80 inch door, which lands near the quarter height figure for a flanking pair. The 27.6 inch suits a tall opening or a single fixture on a wide elevation.

Can all three builds go on an exposed wall?

Yes, all are rated IP65 against dust and water jets. Do not immerse them. On the solar build keep the top ledge clear, since a cell under leaf litter stops charging rather than charging slowly.

A Hood Above and a Shelf Below, Which Is How the Light Gets Aimed Here

The frame closes at both ends and neither closure is decoration. The ledge across the top hoods the tube, so nothing is lost upward into the sky and the output is pushed down the wall and out onto the path; on the solar build it also carries the cell at an angle where it can actually charge. The shelf at the foot catches the lower end of the tube and bounces a little light back up onto the render, which is what keeps the bottom of the fixture from reading as a dark stub. Between the two, the lit length is aimed rather than simply switched on, and the wall is lit deliberately instead of by accident.

Returns and Refunds

How do I return an item?

You have 30 days from the date you receive your order to request a return on eligible items. To start, email us at support@orodwell.com with your order number and the reason for the return, and we will send you the return address and instructions. Items must be unused and in their original packaging.

Do I have to pay for return shipping?

No. On approved returns, we provide a prepaid return shipping label at no cost to you. Please note that a return should never be sent to the manufacturer's address; only to the address our team provides.

I received a damaged or defective item. What should I do?

We are sorry to hear that. If a parcel arrives visibly damaged, please refuse delivery if you can, then contact us at support@orodwell.com with your order number and a photo of the item. We will prioritise your request and arrange a replacement or refund in line with our Refund Policy.

Can I change my mind after ordering?

Yes. If you change your mind within 24 hours of placing your order, before it has been processed, we will refund you right away. After an order has shipped, please follow the standard return process described above.
