Why a pleated shade rather than a plain one?

Because the folds do something a smooth shade cannot. Each crease holds its own line of light and shadow, so the shade reads as texture from across the room and keeps that texture when the lamp is off. It also softens the edge of the light where the fabric meets the frame.

Which way does the light go?

Both ways. The shade is open at the top and the bottom, so you get a wash up the wall and a pool down onto whatever sits below, with the fabric glowing in between. That makes it a good fit above a nightstand or a bench.

Which lamp should I use?

An E26 or E27 lamp, not included. A warm 2700K LED or filament lamp keeps the linen looking cream; a cool lamp turns it gray and flattens the pleats. Stay inside the wattage marked on the fitting.

Can the shade be cleaned or replaced?

Dust it with a soft brush or a vacuum on low, working along the folds rather than across them. Do not wet it. If a shade is damaged, write to us and we will match the pleat and the fitting for a replacement.

Does it come in other sizes?

One size only, Dia 23 x H 31 cm. That is a middling scale: large enough to hold a wall above a bed or a sofa, small enough that a pair does not overwhelm a narrow bedroom.

Does it need an electrician?

Yes. It is hardwired to the supply behind the plate and switched from a common wall switch, which is not included. There is no cord and no plug on this model.

Returns and Refunds

How do I return an item?

You have 30 days from the date you receive your order to request a return on eligible items. To start, email us at support@orodwell.com with your order number and the reason for the return, and we will send you the return address and instructions. Items must be unused and in their original packaging.

Do I have to pay for return shipping?

No. On approved returns, we provide a prepaid return shipping label at no cost to you. Please note that a return should never be sent to the manufacturer's address; only to the address our team provides.

I received a damaged or defective item. What should I do?

We are sorry to hear that. If a parcel arrives visibly damaged, please refuse delivery if you can, then contact us at support@orodwell.com with your order number and a photo of the item. We will prioritise your request and arrange a replacement or refund in line with our Refund Policy.

Can I change my mind after ordering?

Yes. If you change your mind within 24 hours of placing your order, before it has been processed, we will refund you right away. After an order has shipped, please follow the standard return process described above.
