Fabric Bells Aimed Upward, So the Ceiling Does the Spreading of the Light

The bells on this chandelier open toward the ceiling rather than the floor. The light leaves the fabric, hits the plaster, and comes back over the whole room, which is why the bedroom photographs have no hot spot and no hard shadow anywhere. It also means the fabric itself glows gently from the side, so the fitting looks lit rather than bright. Two things to plan for. A pale ceiling bounces far more light than a dark one, so the same chandelier reads dimmer under a deep shade of paint. And upward shades gather dust, so a soft brush two or three times a year keeps the cream from going gray.

Are the shades linen?

They are white fabric bells with a scalloped hem, listed simply as fabric alongside brass and wood. They read as linen in the photographs.

Which lamps does it take?

E26 or E27, one per arm, not included. A frosted lamp sits well inside a fabric bell. Warm white around 2700K keeps the fabric cream and flatters both the brass and the walnut.

Is the column real wood?

Yes. It is built from wood and brass, and the turned column is the wood part. The arms, collar and canopy are brass finished metal. Grain and tone shift a little between pieces.

How wide is too wide?

The eight light is 110 cm across, which is a large fitting for a normal room. Over a dining table, aim for a fitting between half and two thirds of the table width, and keep 30 cm of clear wall on each side.

Do the shades come off for cleaning?

They are fixed to their arms. Brush them with a soft brush from the top of the bell down and keep water off the fabric. Because they face upward they collect dust, so plan a brush a few times a year.

Is it dimmable?

The fitting carries no dimmer of its own. Wire it to a dimmer switch, fit dimmable lamps, and it dims. Check the lamp packaging, because that is where the dimming actually lives.

One Hundred and Ten Centimeters on the Eight Light, Which Needs a Real Room

The three light at 65 cm is a bedroom or landing fitting. The six at 90 cm covers most dining rooms. The eight light is 110 cm across, and that is a genuinely large chandelier that will dominate an ordinary room rather than sit in it. Use the usual rule: the fitting wants to be between half and two thirds of the width of the table or the seating group underneath, with at least 30 cm of clear wall on each side. At 110 cm that means a table of about 170 to 220 cm, which is a table for eight. Below that, the six light is the one that will look deliberate.

Returns and Refunds

How do I return an item?

You have 30 days from the date you receive your order to request a return on eligible items. To start, email us at support@orodwell.com with your order number and the reason for the return, and we will send you the return address and instructions. Items must be unused and in their original packaging.

Do I have to pay for return shipping?

No. On approved returns, we provide a prepaid return shipping label at no cost to you. Please note that a return should never be sent to the manufacturer's address; only to the address our team provides.

I received a damaged or defective item. What should I do?

We are sorry to hear that. If a parcel arrives visibly damaged, please refuse delivery if you can, then contact us at support@orodwell.com with your order number and a photo of the item. We will prioritise your request and arrange a replacement or refund in line with our Refund Policy.

Can I change my mind after ordering?

Yes. If you change your mind within 24 hours of placing your order, before it has been processed, we will refund you right away. After an order has shipped, please follow the standard return process described above.
