Depth Decides Whether a Long Fitting Feels Heavy Above a Kitchen Island

Everyone measures length when choosing a linear fitting and almost nobody measures depth, which is the dimension that actually matters in a kitchen. A bar six feet long and three inches deep reads as a line on the ceiling; the same length at eight inches deep becomes a wall hanging over the counter. Keep it shallow and the kitchen stays open across the island.

Which length for my island?

Measure the island and take about two thirds of it. A five foot island suits the 39.4 inch bar, a seven foot island the 55.1 inch one, and the 71 inch version is for an island of nine feet or more.

How deep is the fitting?

Just under 2.8 inches, which is what lets it hang above a counter without closing the sight line across the kitchen. Depth is the measurement that decides whether a bar feels heavy above an island, more than length does.

What does the ribbed face do?

It breaks the lit surface into fine vertical lines, so the bar glows without showing the LED behind it. Looking up from the counter you see texture rather than a bright strip, which is the difference between this and a plain diffuser.

Can it be dimmed?

The remote dimmable version comes with its own driver and a handheld control. The three fixed versions and the three color version run from an ordinary wall switch, with the color one cycling as the switch is flicked.

Which finish for a dark kitchen?

Black reads as a drawn line against a pale ceiling and disappears against a dark one. Silver picks up stainless appliances, and gold warms a kitchen with wood or brass handles already in it.

How high above the counter?

Thirty two to thirty six inches from the worktop to the bottom of the bar. The cords adjust to 59 inches and are set at installation, with both fixings into joists or structural anchors.

A flat opal face lights evenly and shows every LED behind it as a faint row of dots once your eye is close enough. Fine vertical ribs scatter the light sideways as it leaves, so the row disappears and the face reads as one textured glow. How long does delivery take?

Once your order has shipped, it is usually in transit for about 7 to 10 days. This is an estimate and can occasionally be longer depending on the destination country and the carrier handling your parcel.

How do I track my order?

As soon as your parcel ships, we send you an email containing a tracking link so you can follow its progress. If you do not see it, please check your Spam and Promotions folders.

Returns and Refunds

How do I return an item?

You have 30 days from the date you receive your order to request a return on eligible items. To start, email us at support@orodwell.com with your order number and the reason for the return, and we will send you the return address and instructions. Items must be unused and in their original packaging.

Do I have to pay for return shipping?

No. On approved returns, we provide a prepaid return shipping label at no cost to you. Please note that a return should never be sent to the manufacturer's address; only to the address our team provides.

I received a damaged or defective item. What should I do?

We are sorry to hear that. If a parcel arrives visibly damaged, please refuse delivery if you can, then contact us at support@orodwell.com with your order number and a photo of the item. We will prioritise your request and arrange a replacement or refund in line with our Refund Policy.

Can I change my mind after ordering?

Yes. If you change your mind within 24 hours of placing your order, before it has been processed, we will refund you right away. After an order has shipped, please follow the standard return process described above.
