The weave is not decoration wrapped around a solid shade. It is the shade. Parallel jute strands run vertically around each drum frame, and the gaps between them are what the light comes through, which is why the fixture glows along its whole surface instead of pushing a beam at the floor. Looking up from under it, the strands sit between you and the three bulbs, so the sources are screened without being hidden. Jute is a coarse natural fiber and it takes light warmly, turning a 3000K bulb amber by the time it reaches the room. Three bulbs are supplied, one per socket, which is what fills a drum this wide evenly.

Are bulbs included?

Yes. Three 3000K warm white E27 LED bulbs ship with every fixture, one for each of the three sockets, so it is ready to install out of the box. Each socket accepts any standard E27 medium screw base bulb as a replacement when the time comes.

Can this fixture be dimmed?

The maker advises replacing all three bulbs with Triac-dimmable E27 LEDs and pairing them with a compatible dimmer switch. The included bulbs may or may not be dimmable, so the packaging should be checked before a dimmer is wired in. The dimmer itself is not supplied.

Why are there two tiers?

A wider upper drum sits above a narrower lower drum, and the step between them creates a visual shadow line. The maker uses that stepped profile to give the fixture more vertical presence than a single flat shade would have, without adding a pendant drop.

Does it hang on a cord?

No. The fixture mounts directly to the ceiling junction box on a short fixed stem, so there is no pendant cord and no adjustable drop. The maker recommends a licensed electrician, turning off power at the breaker and confirming the ceiling box is weight-rated before fitting.

Will every fixture look the same?

No, and that is inherent to the material. Each one is hand-woven from natural jute rope, so slight variation in rope tension, strand spacing and surface tone between units comes with the weaving process. The maker states plainly that this is not a manufacturing defect.

Which diameter should I choose?

The three diameters are 15.7 in, 19.7 in and 23.6 in, or 40, 50 and 60 cm. The maker pairs the smallest with a bedroom, a study, a compact dining area or a hallway with a standard 2.4 m ceiling, and scales up from there to a four to six seat dining room.

That stepped silhouette gives the fixture height and presence without the drop a pendant needs, which is the whole reason it works in a room with a standard 2.4 m ceiling. The brushed brass tone plate at the ceiling holds the stem, and the stem is fixed rather than adjustable, so the fixture sits where it sits. Three diameters cover the range: 40 cm for a bedroom, a study or a compact dining area, 50 cm for a standard room, 60 cm where a dining table seats four to six and the fixture has to carry the width.

Returns and Refunds

How do I return an item?

You have 30 days from the date you receive your order to request a return on eligible items. To start, email us at support@orodwell.com with your order number and the reason for the return, and we will send you the return address and instructions. Items must be unused and in their original packaging.

Do I have to pay for return shipping?

No. On approved returns, we provide a prepaid return shipping label at no cost to you. Please note that a return should never be sent to the manufacturer's address; only to the address our team provides.

I received a damaged or defective item. What should I do?

We are sorry to hear that. If a parcel arrives visibly damaged, please refuse delivery if you can, then contact us at support@orodwell.com with your order number and a photo of the item. We will prioritise your request and arrange a replacement or refund in line with our Refund Policy.

Can I change my mind after ordering?

Yes. If you change your mind within 24 hours of placing your order, before it has been processed, we will refund you right away. After an order has shipped, please follow the standard return process described above.
