Lighting the Sculpture From Below Is What Keeps the Ridges Legible at Night

Light something from the front and it flattens. Every shadow disappears, the surface turns into a bright plane, and a modeled form becomes a silhouette with no depth in it. The source here sits in the base and rakes upward across the face of the peak, so each ridge casts its own shadow onto the one behind it and the shape is read by its own relief. Where does the light come from?

From below, inside the base. It rakes up the face of the peak rather than shining outward, which is why the ridges cast their own shadows. Nothing points at anyone standing beside it, so it stays comfortable at close range.

Is it a post cap or a ground piece?

Both work. It is built for a flat horizontal surface, so a pier top, a low garden wall, a stone planter or a step all suit it. Choose the position for the viewing angle, since the peak is meant to be seen from the side.

Does the open frame collect water?

It drains, and the rating covers water jets from any direction. Leaves can sit in the base in autumn and should be lifted out, mostly so the resin stays clean rather than because the fitting minds them.

Which build for a garden that is already planted?

What is the resin like up close?

How do I return an item?

You have 30 days from the date you receive your order to request a return on eligible items. To start, email us at support@orodwell.com with your order number and the reason for the return, and we will send you the return address and instructions. Items must be unused and in their original packaging.

No. On approved returns, we provide a prepaid return shipping label at no cost to you. Please note that a return should never be sent to the manufacturer's address; only to the address our team provides.

I received a damaged or defective item. What should I do?

We are sorry to hear that. If a parcel arrives visibly damaged, please refuse delivery if you can, then contact us at support@orodwell.com with your order number and a photo of the item. We will prioritise your request and arrange a replacement or refund in line with our Refund Policy.
