Wood, Stone and a Glass Orb, With Nothing Else Added
Japandi is a plain idea: Japanese restraint on Scandinavian materials, so a piece earns its place by what it leaves out. This one is three parts. A disc of yellow travertine against the wall, a disc of solid wood overlapping it off center, and a white glass orb in the notch where they cross. No arm, no bracket, no visible fixing, no second material doing decoration. The stone is porous and unpolished, the wood is left open grained, and the orb is opal so the lamp never shows. One size, Dia 30 x H 25 cm, hardwired with a small G9 lamp, not included. Two finishes, walnut or a lighter wood, on the same stone.
