Japandi Table Lamp with a Tilted Shade on a Wood Cone
A solid wood cone rises from the surface and narrows almost to a point, and at the top a short metal arm holds a folded shade at an angle, like a hat set down crooked or a leaf caught on a branch. That tilt is the whole idea. Because the shade leans, the light leaves at an angle instead of straight down, washing one side of the wall and leaving a soft shadow on the other, which is why the lamp reads as a sculpture from across a room and as a reading light from the chair beside it. The cone is turned from solid timber in natural wood or black, the shade is beige fabric folded into a triangular canopy, and the whole thing stands 50 cm tall on a 40 cm footprint. It takes an ordinary E26 or E27 bulb and plugs into a normal outlet.
