One Rod Reads as a Line of Light, and Two of Them Read as Architecture

This is the rare wall fitting that is better bought in pairs. A single rod above a mirror does the job of a vanity bar and looks like a drawn line. The round plates line up, the rods run parallel, and the room gains a rhythm that a single fitting cannot give it. If the wall is tall and mostly empty, plan for two before you drill for one, because the second box is far easier to run at the same time as the first.

Can it be mounted upright as well as level?

The plate is round and the rod passes through its center, so the fitting has no top and no bottom. Level above a mirror it works as a vanity bar. Upright beside a mirror or a door it works as a tall accent, and two of them on one wall is the arrangement the shape was drawn for.

Is the rod glass or acrylic?

The specification says glass and the photographs show the clarity and the edge highlights of glass rather than of plastic. Handle it as glass: support the rod when you tighten the fixings, do not lean anything against it, and clean it with a soft dry cloth rather than a scouring pad.

Is it too bright to look at?

Directly, yes. There is no diffuser, so the light source is visible end to end and reads as a bright line. That is the point of the design and also its constraint: put it above eye level over a mirror, or to the side of one, and not at seated eye height across a room where people sit facing it.

Can I dim it?

Treat it as a fixed output fitting. No dimmer is matched to this driver, and fitting one anyway causes flicker rather than dimming. If dimming is a requirement, the TRIAC builds elsewhere in this range are the ones to choose.

Does it need an electrician?

Yes. It is hardwired, with a supply and a box behind the round plate and a switch on the wall. On a wall with no box in it, the plug in and rechargeable fittings in this range avoid cutting the plaster open.

Can it go in a bathroom?

The rating is IP20, which is no protection against water, so keep it clear of the shower and of direct spray. Glass shows water marks, so dry it rather than letting drops evaporate on it.

No Diffuser Means Sharper Light and One Firm Rule About Where It Can Go

Most bars in this range hide the LED behind an acrylic cover, which softens the light and hides the source. This one runs the LED inside clear glass with nothing over it. The result is a harder, more precise light with visible sparkle, and a fitting that is uncomfortable to look at straight on. That gives one rule worth following: mount it above eye level over a mirror, or upright to the side of one, so people see what it lights rather than what lights it. Follow that and the clarity is the whole appeal. Ignore it and the glare is all anyone will notice.

Returns and Refunds

How do I return an item?

You have 30 days from the date you receive your order to request a return on eligible items. To start, email us at support@orodwell.com with your order number and the reason for the return, and we will send you the return address and instructions. Items must be unused and in their original packaging.

Do I have to pay for return shipping?

No. On approved returns, we provide a prepaid return shipping label at no cost to you. Please note that a return should never be sent to the manufacturer's address; only to the address our team provides.

I received a damaged or defective item. What should I do?

We are sorry to hear that. If a parcel arrives visibly damaged, please refuse delivery if you can, then contact us at support@orodwell.com with your order number and a photo of the item. We will prioritise your request and arrange a replacement or refund in line with our Refund Policy.

Can I change my mind after ordering?

Yes. If you change your mind within 24 hours of placing your order, before it has been processed, we will refund you right away. After an order has shipped, please follow the standard return process described above.
